The turkey are looking great this year in the hill county. I'm out near Junction right now and I saw a few large flocks yesterday, and we have tons of turkey on our trail cameras. Last week I was bow hunting in Sabinal and had turkey every where. I just couldn't get a shoot on them. I bet the spring season will be awesome.

    Lol, I meant #4 shot.
Although we're limited to 4 birds per year up here as well.

Years ago I called one in old school. Was out in cart a valley. Took nearly 2 hours and he came up under blind. I made a noise and he looked up and split. What a blast .
    Good luck.

Lucky bastard! The biggest challenge to turkey hunting around here is that you're limited to #4 bird shot or smaller, and with the thick cover that we have it can make for some really challenging shots. I'd love to be able to reach out and touch one like that. :infantry:

I've been trying for years to call one in. I've used the box and the mouthpieces and never had any luck.

Been shooting up the ducks and geese here in NM. This weekend marks the end of my season. Got a pair of wood ducks today -- really odd for so late in the year. I don't think we've even seen the real push of northern birds yet, but so it goes... I can't complain -- it's been a good season.
