Dude, I pray I avoid this shingles shtuff ... I didn't get Chicken Pox until I was 15 yrs old. I'm paranoid about it again reading your experience now, and witnessing what it did to that guy back in 1990 when I was on my remote tour in Turkey.

Get morning, off today and was able to sleep in until 6. The dogs apparently have no concept of the weekend and seem to think they have a need to go at the same time 7 days a week, go figure.
Thanks for the reminder, 8 above here and climbing the washes should be open soon when it hits 10. Will have to get in line. If the lines aren't out too long to even get in. Been a long time since I've been able to give the salt a bath.

Just reading this had me wincing and almost brought tears to my eyes. Sure hope this gets better soon for you!

There is a shot for preventing shingles if your over 50. Think I'll send my primary care physician an email through the patient care portal later today and ask about it. I want nothing to do with it, ever.

Just put it on my to do list today which is growing fast. Should have put it at the top and not the bottom though.

    Morning Mike.

I asked at my annual VA checkup a couple months ago, and got some not 'til over 60 BS answer. I'll be 52 in March. I'm gonna ask again. Hell man, I think I'm gonna look into just paying for it over the counter. How expensive could it be? ... Probably be sorry I asked that.

Good morning Rob. LOL yeah the sky could be the limit I'm afraid. On the other hand never know until you ask! Year and a half I'll be 60 but not wanting to wait until then at this point. Insurance companies civ or government both seem to be a limiting factor in too many ways.

I just google foo'd it...approved for over 50s, recommended for over 60s. I'm asking again Monday, might just pay for it myself if the VA or base immunization clinic won't give it to me. I'm serious, I know it's just in my head, but it does worry, I'd be lying if I said it didn't.

Did you have chicken pox? If you did, get the shingles shot. If you did not, you don't need it.

My mom got shingles about 2 years ago. All I can say is NO WAY do I want to get them.

Well it is in my head too, totally understand. Better inside our heads and worry about it and get it taken care of now than on your head or any other part of your body IMO.

My youngest son had it already. Going through chemo had a lot of complications and almost forgot about it until just now. Blood infection, stroke, heart valve infection puncture, lot of things. Including shingles on his lower back and butt. I'll take a pass please.

Exactly ... I see WalGreens and Walmart Pharmacy carry it. I'm gonna price check it, and the length of effectiveness when I'm by there this afternoon. If it isn't absurdly expensive, might be worth the peace of mind, IMHO. I wonder if it has to be prescribed or some BS reason they wouldn't just sell it to me?
