I took delivery of my TRD Pro on the 30th of December and drove home cross-country from SC to CO over three days.

I couldn't be more thrilled. I am an enthusiast, and had a Raptor on order (Since August) but it turned into a debacle and Ford had major issues with the launch. I can say this, I own a 2016 GT350, and that process was flawless. I think I dodged a bullet, as the Raptor is already experiencing driveline issues, and I believe the Tacoma will perform much better on the narrow trails here in Colorado.

I researched the Pro while on my last deployment, and wad nervous due to all the flaming it receives on this forum. I paid MSRP, and opted for the Manual due to all the automatic issues that it seems to be experiencing. Its an amazing truck! I believe that the transmission makes the truck. My buddy has the 2016 OR AT, and he came on the trip. He was pretty jealous of the manual. Holds 85 in 6th gear without effort and he noted the suspension was excellent comparatively. I do use my truck, it will go off road, and I didn't overpay in my opinion. I wanted a well sorted, factory solution without any issues.

I am coming from a 2013 4runner (lifted, tires, wheels, etc.). I don't care how well you research, or how much time you take, but there are always issues after a lift or tires such as rubbing, tracking, vibration. I had mine very well sorted, but it always seemed to go out of balance at about 5K in.

I also just got rid of my 1988 DLX Pickup, and have been a lifelong Toyota fan. Suffice it to say, I think Toyota got the TRD Pro right. Now let the flaming begin!

    In other news:

I waited two weeks for my Weathertech mats and was severely disappointed when I received them.

I always buy Weathertech, American made, and the others I have purchased were flawless. Guess every company goes downhill at some point.

Anyone have the Husky X-Act Contour for a Manual? Is the fitment better

The Manual was clearly an after thought...looks like a three year old used an exacto-knife to cut out the pedal box.

I used a heat gun as well to see if I could mold them a little. Didn't work. Clutch gets stuck behind mat.

    Plans:
    Rack
    RTT
    Off Road Shower
    Light bar (Ridid Industries 30")
Winch: WARN Platinum 10-S SDHQ hidden mount
Wheels: Either Konig Counter Steers or Rays Volk Racing TE37x 16x8 in Bronze

    Sorry for the long post!

lol. your story and mine are similar. we have the same truck and in super white as well. i received mine beginning of December. about 2300mi so far.

i sought out the Husky X acts for our application but nope, not available for the MT. so i got the Husky hard ones, weather beaters i think, and the fitment is 98% for me. but it works as designed and simply covers the dead pedal zone, so it adds very little, my only complaints on them are disliking the harder plastic, and the ribs facing so my right heel is not supported as they run longitudinally rather than laterally. also i would like the dead pedal to be textured. meh, not a problem worth dwelling on.

this is such a great truck. i am enjoying the drive everyday as I'm doing mods and making it better for me.

I've never had an issue with weather tech. The only thing I know is that they will seat once it gets some heat. How long have you had them? I don't have any experience with Husky.

Used a heat gun to warm up. Just tried them out tonight. It was a no go.

It was like they were the wrong part number (double checked because I was certain they were incorrect).

Nope. I will post one at a later date, and in the correct area.

I like the VOLKs. Saw them on a build thread somewhere on here. I am a fan of the bronze...80s throwback.

I have had some before where they had some gaps but with a few days of sun they seated. I would contact Weather tech, see what they have to say. I don't know what their return policy is but if its 30 days, give it some time then if its still not right, return them.

Husky have a soft rubber feel to them and are not slippery. The WT have a hard plastic feel to them and are slick

I have AME Tracer Fs-01s in bronze on my Z.

Oh, and I have weather techs in my Tacoma. It seemed a little I'll fitting, but I meant to check how it looks after a week.

Husky X-act is the way to go. My Pro is an AT but I have Husky's. I haven't heard anything good about Weathertech.

Weatherbeaters form Husky are the only option for the Manual in the front. The dead pedal on the AT Husky X-Act Contour is too wide for the manual and interferes with the clutch pedal. Fitment is great on the Weatherbeaters that I have. I have the contours in the rear. The Husky liners have the nubs on the back and stay in place well - even on the passenger side without a mat hook. My previous WeatherTechs in another vehicle moved all over the place on the passenger side as there was no mat hook and the smooth bottoms on the WeatherTech liners.
OP - glad you joined the "Save the Manuals" club. Enjoy the sweet truck.

I had weathertechs in my Tundra. I went with the huskys in my MT Pro. Much better fit imo

    I have:
    X-act for the rear
Weatherbeaters for the front because of MT. I talked to Husky and they are not making the x-act for MT

My weathertechs have the same gap on the drivers side. Passenger side fits like a glove. GF got husky's for her rav4 at the same time as me and they all fit perfectly. I will be replacing mine with husky at some point.

I did weathertech with my last toyota. I changed from that to Husky due to fitment. Husky are made in USA as well if that's your big selling point.

Nice pro, and welcome! Don't know about the weather mats, as I have the oem and am satisfied with it so far. But I do have the weathertech mats in my manual car, and don't have the third pedal issue you are having, so you may want to contact them about that issue. Nice DLX, would have loved to have bought that truck off of you though!

I had Weathertechs in my 6 speed 2nd gen Tacoma. They took a few weeks to conform to the floor pans and I had to trim the top of the driver's side so the clutch pedal didn't hang up on it.
