Just a note for anyone that wants to attempt this and think they can get better results, apparently there's a lot besides the map that uses the SD card. Your maintenance records screen, among a few others apparently, have to have a working Map SD card.

 

Reflashed the SD with my backup image and when I put it in the head unit it didn't go through any kind of update process. It just started working like I had just taken the SD card out. Seems like "update" just didn't take. Gonna do some more research.

 

The message you showed is what I got when I duplicated my OE184 card to another card. Wouldn't accept it.

Seems it may have updated the system software fine and then hit copy protection regarding the maps. Go to the update page on your head unit and see the software level. Does it match the 010182?

 

I asked about this today. The service advisor said it was 169.00 for the card and 160.00 for the install. I asked him why it is 160.00 to put a card in the slot. He said in a smart as tone " because the tech stream tool costs 8 thousand dollars". I am downloading this file now and will spend more if I have to, rather than go to that ass****. This sucks that Toyota pulls this bullshit plus doesn't put liners in the cup holders. And the transmission sucks balls. Besides that, I love my truck and I'm too far in.

 

I think it may have something to do with the Model Code. 13TDANNA-DA11 is the one shown on the Setup screen on my hea unit. I'm going to rewrite the OE184 image to the SD card again tomorrow (now that I know it can be recovered) and copy all the files over to Windows and do a comparison. I remember seeing different model codes on the OE183 files, and when I looked at the OE184 I wasn't paying much attention to the file names. I'm definitely not giving up that easy. @Hank Heel which head unit do you have? What's your model code, etc?

I tried to image my existing sd card to another sd card, it wouldn't read the maps. There was no update like Jason posted, just the error about reading map data

 

Did any of the software update stick? Is it just the maps that wouldn't load? Are the "Audio" "Audio System" and "DSP Module" numbers the same?
