Ya I left for Seattle on Tuesday night at 930. Snowing all the way up through Centralia. Taco handled it well though. A little dicey.

Its crazy up here in Hood River, a blast to drive around in my rental frontier (I'm from Boston and my trucks there - here for a month for work).

The oldest school in Bend had its whole roof cave in. Several buildings have suffered the same fate out there. My friends who live out there have been posting crazy shit on Facebook.

Still can't believe I was in Portland literally last week before this all hit...

Welcome to Oregon. Your in the neutral zone. Good river is kinda dry, kinda wet and really windy. Wind surfing capital of the universe.

Yes sir! Then was the rides to have back then. My friends had these (And heeps) and they laughed at me when I said I wanted to buy an fj40. The 40 cost $6k brand new with a lot of upgrades. God bless 1980.

I set some radio stations. That's about it so far.

I bought mine about 15 years ago when prices were still relatively cheap. I was tempted to get an FJ40, but my nephew has one and looking through an old Downey Toyota or Manafre catalog and seeing replacement part prices got me scared. I figured the Ford would be built from the same parts bin as the F series trucks and Mustangs. Oh, was I so naive! They would have both been the same kinda money pit.

There's a house down the block that has had a 40, on 4 flats, parked in the front yard since I moved to bend. If I can convince my wife, I may go ask if they want to sell.

The Hydrologic outlook for the Gorge through this next Thursday is going to own everyone with flat roofs that haven't shoveled the snow off.

Rivers are going to rip with snow levels up to 10,000' and rainfall totals over three days up to 10".

roads are still dangerous. maybe more so now. long stretches of dry pavement on state highways and Interstates interrupted by raised sheets of rutted ice. saw a new Subaru flipped on its roof. running 4x4 studded snows makes these trucks extremely capable. stay safe out there.

Agreed. Didn't bother getting on a hwy - but looking down on 205 from the overpass looked pretty gnarly. Luckily I got what I needed today and not a damn thing to do on Monday (New headlights coming on Tuesday, of course) because of the holiday. Hopefully we'll get thawed out by Tuesday?

I heard the Portland area was a complete mess with people abandoning their cars in the highway after that storm. Crazy! Glad I live on the other side of the state where (most) people have a descent idea on how to drive in it.
