What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Man I could not get anywhere close to the car wash for the last two days 76 degrees made everyone go to the car wash.

The Pro grille insert is a separate pc. I think the surround runs about 180 or so, I think... The Pro insert is a LOT. There is a deals thread (www.tacomaworld.com/threads/duke-of-deals-round-2.463174/) but not sure if the guy selling the stuff is still doing it, that has it for 370 shipped.

 

Is that just for the insert?

Holy crap that is expensive... does the surround come with the come white the whole assembly or do I have to reuse the one I have? I might just do that until I can justify the pro insert as a birthday present haha

 

That's just the insert. There's a custom Pro Grill insert on eBay with black mesh that you can bid on. It was up to two hundred something.

I got the new rear output shaft seal in and performed the drain and refill today!

 

Finished installing the light bar in the lower valence. Then took a picture.

 

Last weekend... installed a PelfreyBilt battery cage, NorthStar 31M battery (dual post) and Big 3 wiring kit. Now I'm ready to install my RTMR panel and hook up my cubby switches (and all the rest of the electrical, LED lights, and hidden winch that I have piled up hither and yon).

 

Looks good! It's so satisfying when the pieces come together that let you finally tend to the parts pile. Time for the fun stuff!

 

Nothing exciting today, but I got my new drop hitch plate for the high clearance bumper and installed a 2" ball and pintle combo hitch on it to save me from swapping hitches all the time. I also cut a square out of a rubber floor squeegee refill from ACE Hardware to use as a bumper pad on my tire swingout. It's holding up much better than the foam weather stripping did.

Edit: this is post #556 for me... guess that means it's time to pull the ARs out for some play time!

My thoughts exactly. That battery was sitting on my work bench since July.

Now I need to rethink (replace) the RTMR mounting panel with a larger one that can also accommodate a negative bus bar, 100 amp breaker, and a 400 amp fuse for the winch. I'll get on that this week.

 

I wish I had integrated bus bars into my setup. That'll keep things nice and neat under the hood for ya. I've got wires and cables everywhere! For the size of these trucks nowadays... there's not nearly enough room under the hood for all the goodies we want to stuff under there.

Yesterday actually. 150,000 mile oil & filter change.

 

Made a harness and brought all thw switch legs under the truck from engine bay to talegate. Drilled a small hole and used a rubber grommet. These are for some chase lights and also a #10wire for power for an air compressor.
