Cost a whopping $300 to level out the front end with the rear end on an F150.

Had them "crappy" spacers on 4 other F150's, never a problem.

My buddy leveled his 150 for $300. Rode like my stock truck. It has 40k on it now. F150s are huge they will never be able to emulate what the Tacoma does on small/tight trails. 2 totally different animals.

The only people who should ever consider one are they ones who literally never take their tacos off road. I know I never did. I bought a Tacoma because it's a Toyota and I've lived then since I was a young kid. It served its purpose well for almost 7 years.

I don't worry about clearance levels. If it can clear a curb to park at church, I'm satisfied. I will level it soon just because I like the look of bigger tires. The F150 serves as a large family and truck for hauling stuff well. Rides like its on glass and the v8 gives me the same mpgs as my 4.0 taco did.

Avid off roaders should stick with tacomas, I would even look at the GM twins until they bring out their more aggressive off road versions.

Quick edit - before somebody says I should have bought and suv. I'm a firefighter so I don't like putting bunker gear and other gear covered in carcinogens and god knows what else inside my vehicles.

    It's coming in the spring.
Toyota needs to do some catching up....... First the duramax and now....How about a duramax with front lockers?

Awesome, once every one else proves its worth it, I am sure yota will make the needed adjustments.

I know man, I've been watching the videos of it and reading about it. It looks to be a legit contender for those who wish to venture off the beaten path. ESP with a diesel...pft good gas mileage, long motor life if maintained. No brainer.

This thread has me a little bit worried! I ordered a new 17 tacoma a few days ago and it's being built for me. The problem with this thread is that it sounds like a lot of you are having bad luck and I am buying this truck to take it offroad, like real offroad. If your trucks are falling apart just going down pavement then I am going to be scared to even get it muddy to void warranty. My last 4 vehicles have been 7.3l powerstrokes and I haven't had a yota for a long time. I came really close to getting a new 5.0 f150 but I wanted to get back into a yota and cruise the trails. Washington has crazy good offroading. I didn't want to buy a used or already built wheeler because I wanted to buy this new drive it until the warranty goes away then sas it,lockers, and build it over time...

Not all of them are bad, there's some guys that are extremely happy with their truck, and have really used and abused them so far. A lot of it is gripes about the transmission being sluggish, or laggy (auto problem). But I bought this truck with the intention of being off-road capable, and daily driven. It hasn't let me down yet. No weird squeaks, no seats falling apart, don't even have a complaint about the transmission. I've got a 2017 TRD Off-road, and so far zero complaints aside from gas mileage, but I still average around 16MPG while getting into it from time to time.

I think you'll be fine, Taco Wheeler. But we'll only know when you get your truck and start driving it!

I think you'll be alright, there has been a ton of people with MAJOR problems. Just read the forums on what to have checked at time of delivery and what to look out for afterwards. Some problems like wind noise are just going to be there with tacos. You won't find a better off road truck ATM. Once they release the new off road version of twins...who knows

It's too late......Toyota should be the first to come out with this stuff. Because now...you've got many consumers considering switching. I honestly don't think Toyota wants to go that route (and maybe they'll prove me wrong). If anything...they'll probably be the first to come out with a hybrid Prius-like truck.
