I've purchased a 1984 solid axle Toyota truck chassis, I'm about to start upgrading them before the fabrication starts. Trendsetters off-road is going to do the work. But I'm curious to see what other users are running, have any suggestions or, technical advice on what parts to use? Any and all help will be appreciated

Are you building the minitruck? Or swapping the axle to your Tacoma? Not really sure what's going on here. If you're using the front axle on your Taco, you will have a very narrow wheelbase up front, you'll need to swap to IFS hubs and run spacers probably.
If you're asking about building the mini, this probably isn't the best forum for that. Way more tech info on pirate.

Ever since i sold my lifted 85 p/u i've always wanted another solid axle yota and planned to SAS my all stock 04 tacoma until i started to calculate the cost of the build. But with the 84 chassis you have you already have a great start. I found & bought two mid 90's 3xlocked FZJ80's for cheap so my plans have changed. The Landcruiser 80's are the last of the solid axle & diff locked yotas here in the states and the prices are still affordable.

Isnt is absurd how much it costs to sas a tacoma!! Not to mention the tacoma has a driver side drop so a old yota axle isnt very useful considering old straight axle trucks were passenger side drop. The axles you got are the way to go for sasing a taco though, far better than having to purchase a complete new diamond axle or any other option really...

Shit for parts and labor if need be the job is more than the truck is worth! I still wanna do it however lol...

That's why i started searching for a diff locked 80. Looked for 2 years then found 2 in the same week this past November. The lifted 94 i paid $1700 for from a fellow TW member. It drives great but has some rust, it's gonna be my trail rig. The stock 95 i paid $1400 for. It has no rust & was a 1 owner but has a blown hg.

Yea, i bought 2 complete running rigs. I didn't plan on buying 2 lol. Like i mentioned the stock one has a bad hg but it still runs & it's rust free. I'll be sending the head out to the machine shop soon to be checked then i'll replace the hg. I found it sitting in a driveway while dropping off one of my tacoma's to a vendor here, Mobtown Offroad. I knocked on the door and asked if it was for sale, then confirmed it was equipped with the rare diff lock option then after some negotiations it was mine. The lifted one i found on here, i plan to have some fun with this one in the trails. The lifted one is built with a Ironman 4" lift, like new 315's, 10k pound winch, set up for onboard air, Budbuilt skids, GPS touch screen stereo system, rock sliders, all new 4wdb's and the seller threw in a bunch of parts for it. I was as happy as a fat kid in a candy store!

I really like the look of the lifted one!! Were all of those rigs auto tranny since they were suposed to be sorta a luxury vehicle? Which makes no sense considering how its built and equipped!

I sure like the bumper arb made for those rigs too, they just look so nice, way better looking than the tacoma bumper! I also love how they somewhat resemble a 3rd gen 4runner thats been sas'ed!

All the ones built for the U.S. are auto with gas engines. But now because they are getting older some of them with manual trans & diesels are being imported here.
