Likewise, I'm bringing my own as well. There are surrounding grills near the roundabout, but none in the parking lot for us

I work at a Jetski company in Tempe and there isn't even a discount possible because the passes are $8 even in bulk haha it's more of having it for convenience. My boss buys a decent amount at the beginning of each term they reprint. They also run out of passes before the year ends typically because they don't ever make enough.

Just a bunch of old crap
You can get Tonto passes from Bass Pro Shops if it's on your way out to the 60, too.

Thanks adam! Yea I should have taken a picture of the of the info board out there, I remember the last Chevron off the 87 is one, another was a QT off University and Ellsworth. Basically almost all QT's have the passes but check out this Vendor List for all Tonto Pass Locations.

Thats so they don't get left with the old stock as they change them every year and takes on average several weeks to get them printed, delivered, inventoried and then mailed out to the vendor.

But yes this is correct there is no margin for discounts, most vendors make no money off these, just use it to drive business into there store and or up to a quarter I think is the highest if I remember right. my wife managed the vendor pass program for about 5-6 years and just transferred positions half way into last year, so I know a lot about these damn little things, and even her and I don't get a discount on our passes.

Yep that's what we heard, great unwasteful program and when they run out they allow you to use the parks without requiring a pass as they are aware when they run out so it's no big deal. Last year it was like 30cents this year it's less haha. Either way Forrest service are pretty good people around these parts and often also people who wheel on their free time as a hobby.

Ask her if my Access Pass is good instead of a Tonto Pass? Called the Ranger Station twice and got different answers....

She said it's not like it used to be with the pass but suggested you call the Mesa district as the two front desk people there are top notch and should give you an up to date correct answer.

She sent me this link for you:
    https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/tonto/recreation/picnickinginfo/recarea/?recid=35415&actid=70
The access pass falls under being the America the beautiful pass.
