The road noise isn't bad at all. You can hear them if you sit there and listen for them. I've had BFG KM2's and they were noisy but great tires. KO's and KO2's i've had a set of both and they are noisy only because they pick everything up that isn't physically attached to the ground. So far the Cooper STT PRO's are my favorite tire i've had. Here in Oregon we've had some good winter weather so i've got to try them out in just about every condition. I feared that they would be similar to the KM2's on the ice, but they seem to grip way better, more like a GOOD all terrain tire does. Deep snow they work GREAT! I've been running them at 35PS.
I'd highly recommend these tires to anybody that is considering them or is looking for MT tire but doesn't want all the road noise that typically comes with tires such as Toyo MT's or BFG's.

Sweet thanks for the info. I currently have General Grabber AT2 tires which are great but id like something more aggressive. I can tell tough 35 PSI will lead to the centers wearing quickly. That's way too high for a mud tire on a pickup. 30-31 in the back, 32-34 up front and that's absolute max. Best thing to do is grab some sidewalk chalk and draw a line across the tire. Drive forward perfectly straight and see how much chalk wore off. You'll notice the outside of the tire will have chalk but the insides won't, that's due to over inflation. Take one pound of air out at a time and continue this until the whole line wears off at the same time. That tells you the tire is properly inflated and is contacting the road properly. Front will be different from the rear due to the rear having very little weight.

Looks like you went a tad heavy, oh well. Send it to wet sanding and buff, and you'll be good! Lol

I've been waiting for the weather to cooperate better so I can do the chalk test. We have a nice winter wonderland here so it wouldn't be much help to get the proper results. I figured it was going to be a little to high of a psi for them, but they are driving nice and not having any problems. When I took my truck to the dealer last weekend they put 39psi in all 4 tires! That clearly was way to much! I was wanting to run them around the 32-33Psi mark. Once the weather clears up I'll be doing the chalk test for sure! Good looking out.
I definitely wanted something that had a more aggressive look to it and still performed great, did lots of research across multiple forms to get a good idea on how liked the Cooper STT Pro's are and I couldn't find anything that people didn't like. There were however the jackasses that complained they got worse milage and the noise was more then the STOCK tires they've been running, which you're going to run into no matter which tire you go with. I know the "people" out there really care about mileage loss... honestly I did lose some, In the STOCK configuration of my truck, to and from work I was averaging between 22-25mpg. Since I've changed my tire set up i'm getting between 20-23mpg. Drove all last week in 4HI and I've averaged a hair over 19.

That is awesome! I need this! Were the struts difficult to install? This was one thing I noticed when I bought my Tacoma, no struts on the hood. Glad to see I can incorporate them! Looks good my friend.

Thanks! No, the struts are pretty easy to install. Just measure twice and drill once!

Use a GOOD rivet gun. My lame gun was horrible. Do the vertical rivets on the fenders first. My mistake was doing the hood side first. The 1st 2 rivets were the worst with my cheap gun working upside down. After that it was a cake job. I love mine. If you have a K&N cai you will need to bend the outside rear wall forward for strut clearance to close your hood. Very minor adjustment.20170110_141314.jpg
