It cannot legally void your warranty unless they can provide evidence of whatever is wrong with the vehicle is due to your "3+ inches" of lift. Otherwise, anything aftermarket would "void warranty" and there's no point in even getting a warranty. There has to be justification for the void.

You might want to do your research lol. There's plenty of people here who have run into that "dealership said no" crap and the dealerships lost. You want to start cutting cross members, then yea, I can definitely see that, but hey, your choice bro.

The problem with that one of thinking is that there IS actually a FEDERAL law that was passed back in the late 80s early 90s to address stuff like this.
It also doesn't void your warranty to have maintenance and work done at shops other than your dealer. Another ploy used by dealerships to try and keep all work done "in house". That also was addressed with that law I mentioned earlier.
Now, if the dealer can show that the work done contributed to the failure of whatever is broke, then, ya, it won't be covered. i.e.. if you have installed a 5 inch lift on your access cab short bed rig, and you have a u joint blowout due extreme driveshaft angles, then ya, it won't be covered by warranty.

And vibration, steering wheel flutter, or balancing issues with your STT pros? Especially at freeway speeds. I'm looking at a set of these myself but know that sometimes they softer compound mud tires have a tendency to "walk" at higher speeds.

It's got a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.
none of that. they had to use 2.2lbs of weights but they are fine. i only have 4k miles on them so i will have to see how they wear.

They're not bad, but I don't know what you consider loud or quiet. The last few sets of tires that I ran on previous rigs were Goodyear wrangler mtr, and bfg km2's.

then why even click into the 3rd gen forum???

IMO the 3rd gen is the best looking tacoma ever. the body lines are modern, but still blocky enough to maintain a "truck" look.

OP: i am in the same boat that you are. deciding between 16s and 17s......

here are my big decision making trucks: the quicksand truck is Method NV in 16... with 295/75/16s and the inferno truck is with 285/70/17s on 4runner TRD Pro wheels (these are not my trucks btw)

Here's mine on 285/75/16. I think more sidewall looks better on trucks. Plus they are better off road. Both reasons I went with a 16 over a 17. I think this looks better than my current setup (bigger tire).

That looks really good. Are STT PRO just a fatter more bubly tire than most? I like how the side wall seems to bulge on those tires in both the 17 and 16 inch sizes. How can I tell if I chose a different tire that it would be similiar in bubbliness on the sidewall? Probably a ridiculous question

Thank you! I had my local speed/off road shop do the install. it took about 6 hours with no issues this far. I didn't have clearance issues with the 3" OME lift, I just want a little more height.

how far they stick out is just a matter of the tire width vs wheel width. these ray 10s are 8.5" wide and professorx's are 8" wide. in general, tires in size 285 should be 285mm. but in reality different tires from different manufacturers are a little bit different. cooper says mine are 33.03" tall and 11.5" wide. if I went up to a 295 they are 33.46 x 12" so they would be even more bubbly!

but I like the tire look myself. really the reason I went with 17s is to avoid the chance of weights getting knocked off by the calipers and I felt there were more tires available and cheaper than 16", but I could be wrong on that last point.

Awesome, I love the look of it. Don't really see too many people with body lifts. Seems like a fairly inexpensive way to get an extra inch, giggity

Thanks! I agree. 1" is just enough, can't really see the frame and it's not "obvious." The kit was 159.00 and install was around 350.00. Yea, Didn't want to cut my sub frame to get the 4" lift of other kits.
