Kind of a specific request. Anyone running these specs and can provide pics and if you did any chopping/trimming? With my research, this should not need a CMC, at the very most some trimming to the fender liners if that.

    3" lift front
    OME Dakar leaf pack rear
    16x8 ET0 (4.5" BS)
    285/75/16 KO2/KM2/AT2 or similar
    2.5-3.5 positive caster

You might get away without them but if you're fully flexing I'd just do it with the install.

Looks great, mind providing details or tire and wheel size? rubbing? trimming? any issues with installation or afterwards?

I went ahead and bought the 650s. Marie at Headstrong said I have no need for the 700s since I'm not adding weight to the front.

    Thanks! No issues whatsoever.

The tires are 295/70/17, wheels are SCS SR8 17x9 (4.5bs, -6 offset) also running 0.75" wheel spacers to help fill out the wheel well.

I had a decent amount of trimming to do, had the cab mount chopped, hammered back the pinch welds, and there is still some rub. I'll get some pictures this afternoon.

Is there anything other than normal tools required to install the stage 4? I have a full mechanics garage with lift at my disposal. Just need to know if I need anything special or if there was anything not included in the kit that I will need to purchase separately? I already bought a sway bar relocator bracket in anticipation for this. And I have the Coilover adjusting wrench from Icon too.

Pretty straight foward. I don't even think I used an impact wrench.

Wow. Not even for the u bolts? I did a 2 inch leveling kit on my buddies truck once with just hand tools in my garage. Never again. Once I worked for an Offroad shop and Discount Tire in my younger years I swore to never try doing suspension without a lift and pneumatic tools again. Haha.

Yes, air does make alot of things easier. I don't remember my Ubolts being that tight. I wish I would have had an extra pair of hands though!

Yeah luckily I will have a buddy helping me out. He owns a fairly modded FJ and wants to learn about suspension more so I will teach him while we do my truck. I'm sure putting the coilovers in and setting the rear axle will be much better with 2 guys than one. I've only ever done cheap spacer lifts by myself.

You'll be good with just normal tools. I did the same thing and bought the sway bar relocation bracket as well before I received my stage 4 kit and, only to realize when the kit came in, it had it because of the extended travel coilovers.

I am considering the Icons for the front of my 17 DCLB sport over the Fox due to Icon having 2.75'' of lift over Fox's 2'' on regular travel 2.5 coilovers. I am not wanting to do UCA's so ext travel are out. Has anyone had issues with them? My local 4wheelparts claims they get lots of them back for leaks and general defects....

So...what are the options for stiffer springs on these icons?

Mine have the 650's and cranked up close to the max but not there yet. I added a bumper and winch and now need about half an inch back due to sag.

Is there just one option - 700? I've read there is a 700 with an extra of coil? Or is that just the base 700?

I'm figuring having to crank the coils up to get height just makes ride worse and flex worse.

So if there is a longer coil is that the best setup for Off Road? I'm not looking to get 3" inches of height. Just somewhere between the 2.5-2.75 I have now.

There's one option, it's the 700 lb 14 inch coil. That's 1 inch longer than the 650 as well. Nothing to do with off roading, it will just handle additional weight better and reduce your preload by one inch due to length. I found even stock weight being what it is on 3rd gens, it is a better option given the 650 lb coil was made for the lighter 2nd gen frontend out of the box.

As soon as I added SSO bumper and winch, the 700 lb was absolutely necessary to maintain original lift height.

    Thanks!

When you swapped out coils did you need a compressor? That's the one tool I don't have.

I know with the stock stuff and ome you don't need a compressor - at lest I didn't. I've had plenty of experience with coilovers on import cars but the coils are really short and you don't need anything to replace them.

I was getting some other work done so had the guys at my local shop swap them while it was in. Not sure whether it needed it or not, sorry!

Got Icon Stage 4 lift on 2016 SR5 4x4. Just put the 700# springs on with a stick bumper. I told off-road warehouse to level it and maybe a little higher in the front: this is what I got! Looks super cool, rides a little rough and tight, but grew up in full size trucks, so it rides like I expected. Have taken it into the riverbed by the house and absolutely love how it handles. I have even jumped it and it handles like a dream. I will bring the front end down soon due to the UCA and axle angle.

The 700 lb spring has maximum preload of 1 inch of thread showing. I'd say you're in spring bind territory by a lot (that looks like >2 inches).
