Maxtrac Spindle Lift for 2nd Gen Prerunners

has anyone painted there spindals a different color other then black?

 

I've seen guys paint them anything from red to neon and everything in between.

I've actually seen some pink ones in town. But they were mega custom.

 

wow. I was thinking about painting just the MT but I don't know how much of it really shows with a 285 70 17

 

It will still show pretty good. You will want to clean and paint the Maxtracs for sure.

Custom color on the lettering looks really nice in my opinion

 

yeah I've read that you should put a few extra coats on to prevent rust

 

Definitely, just clean them up (you will see what I mean when you get them)

And hit em with Rustoleum, give it a couple light coats, then a couple heavier ones and you will be good to go.

Mine have no signs of wear and tare at all.

 

did you put any kind of a clear coat on them?

 

I've seen a guy with white ones.

I painted my MT red, it's still visible.
With 285's.


With 35's

love the color of your truck. I wanted that color when I bought mine but it wasn't available in 06

 

Thanks! Yeah it didn't come out until 2012 before that it was timberland mica but I'm not sure how far back it went.

 

I think the timberland came out in 08 or 09

 

295/70/17 or 285/75/17 trail grapplers?

 

Gents! Need some help trouble shooting. Since I installed the spindles, I'm getting this "clunk " sound usually when I make a slow sharp turn in either direction, and also occasionally when if I have to brake hard. Kind of sounds like something setting but it's loud enough that when I'm parking and it happens people turn around to see what it was.
What could be the most likely culprit ??

 

lca bushing maybe or a wheel bearing

 

Tighten up the Cam tabs on the LCA's - Did you get an alignment? Sometimes the dont torque them enough and it could cause what you are describing

 

I had the same clunk, re torqued every attachment to spindle and it was gone.

 

I'd do like @Pushincaskets, check & re-torque everything that had been taken off or loosened. Even the lca's like mentioned before.

Did yall grease those cam tab bolts when you put em back in???

They are notorious for rusting and seizing up
