You don't NEED lockers. Although very helpful, you can get a tug or stack rocks.

Not all of the greens are simple. Some of the blues have sections that could be black... lol. Just be with someone who knows what trails are what.

I personally would not want to go to RC without skids and sliders. I know guys do, but the pucker factor will be high worrying about your rockers and pans all day.

Watch the vids posted by Articelf on page 163. The T4Rs had no skids and only the one had sliders. Those were green trails that they ran.

I think most of us in the green/blue groups don't have lockers. So you will be able to hang with no problems.

And if not we'll get to use our recovery gear.

Can someone explain how the 101 classes are? Yay or nay? Worth it or easier way to learn that knowledge?

A good trail leader will give you tips and help you through sections that could be challenging. The off camber stuff that I saw you go through proves that you have little fear, so I doubt that you would gain amy knowledge from the 101 class. Anyone who has gone through the classes could chime in and add their input.
I watched a 101 class on you tube and was bored in a few minites, fwiw.

Think Ant did something similar. I have to make my own traction bar since DCLBs get no love from many aftermarket companies

Just go as you are. Ask your group to either avoid harder trails or to make sure there are bypasses for parts that exceed your capability/confidence. Even with just 1 day of prior wheeling experience behind the wheel and a stock truck with >170K miles, I didn't break anything. Do your best to pay attention and actually learn, trust your spotters, and don't do anything you're not comfortable doing. You can learn a lot wheeling without a lift, bigger tires, sliders, skids, lockers, and so on.
