Got mine in and installed, with the dakars I gained about an inch and a half to two inches. Immediately I noticed the ride is similar to when you remove the front sway bar. Much more articulation and a smoother ride but could feel out of control Im sure to someone else. Will post pics soon but for now entirely impressed. Eric was extremely helpful with giving tips on how to remove those pesky rivets.

Smoother over bumps? Do you also have the front swaybar removed?

I don't have a front swaybar installed, but don't want to lose my highway capability either. 75mph speedlimits here in TX.

I was going about 80 on the freeway to work and felt fine.

So I'm taking another look at having the brackets zinc-nickel plated instead of painting. Zinc-nickel has approx 5 times the salt-spray resistance of yellow zinc plating.

I think I would go with silver, I like black, but the black chromate comes out sort of dark dark green.
If you want black you could always paint over the plating for better corrosion protection.

    What do you think?

Looks great! Anything you can do to increase corrosion resistance is a good thing. I'm sure folks will appreciate the thought that their investment will not rust away after a few winters. I'm not saying the painted parts will rust away, but the plating will sure be tougher and longer lasting, especially with paint on top of the plating. I like the R&D, it shows you are committed to bringing to market the best possible parts!

@ARCHIVE Just to be clear, the current version of the shackle flip + Dakar's requires drilling holes in the frame 3/4''-1'' forward to accommodate for the shorter leaf springs?

If so, any plans to modify the shackle flip so it may be moved forward enough and avoid drilling additional holes?

Finally, anyone have photos showing where they drilled the additional holes?

    Thank you.

I can email you instructions to explain.
Yes, to achieve 25° with Dakars drill only 1 extra hole (due to aftermarket bumper mount clearance) this angle may be desirable for people who carry heavy loads.
To achieve 45° with Dakars drill 4 new holes each side, I added extra holes to bolt bracket on, then match drill frame using brackets as template.
I don't want to make 2 versions. All other springs so far seem to be very good on the shackle angles especially All Pro, Deaver U402 (J66 not good with flip), Alcans, etc

Here are some pictures installed with Dakar's for 45° angle

2016 was a progressive year of growth for Archive Garage with the support of all of you, and I am very appreciative for that! Thank you!
I'm excited looking forward to continued growth in 2017, and introducing new products...like the Archive shock relocation tower project.
I now have the relocation parts in hand, and test fitting is under way, so in the next couple weeks there should be some good news and pics very soon.

    Thank you, Eric

Eric's customer service is top notch! He answered all my questions prior to purchasing the kit. So I got all the correct parts I needed, to make the install relatively painless. I installed the longer brake lines a few weeks ago, and the other night a buddy and I tackled the install the night before I installed my high clearance. Install took a few hours, about 3.5, and the hardest part was the rivets and lack of space. After the install I realized my shackle angle wasn't correct and messaged Eric for his advice. Within an hour he responded and mind you this was about 10:30 pst, I believe he's in New York!? I was shocked, but he informed me, that in fact, my hanger was in the wrong location. So the next day I moved it and drilled the required hole at work, and in retrospect I should of done it at work. It's a lot easier drilling the hole and moving the hanger while standing than laying in the garage in the winter and 9 pm. Anyway super happy with the kit! Now some flexing pics! Haven't taken pics of the shackle angle while not flexing as I'm waiting for my jerry can holder for my swing out.

Just a heads up, 2016 pricing is extended until Feb 1st, after that there will be a mild 2017 price increase. With TW discount, the new price will be $280, still well under the market for quality delivered. Remember to PM me for discount code

Time to bring you guys in on the forthcoming Archive shock relocation. Please comment away, ask questions and pull on the loose threads, here is your chance to weigh in before it goes to production.
