I got me some TRD outdoorsman decals to replace my factory bedside decals. Any suggestions on removing my factory decals?

should just come off, then use goo gone or something to get rid of the residue then apply the new stickers

Has anyone had issues with the paint under the decal looking brand new due to to the truck being a few years old and the paint fading?

I just removed the original "TRD Offroad" bedside decal from my Black Sand Pearl '05 this summer, and replaced it with a different style TRD decal. The new one is a different shape, (and color) than the original. I was expecting to see a difference between what was under the decal, and the surrounding area. After using Goo Gone (to get the original adhesive off), and cleaning, and compounding, and applying a fresh coat of wax, there is no difference in color.

Just let it sit out in the sun and warm up and they should peel right off. If you have to, warm it up with a hair dryer. You can use GOO-GONE or WD-40 to get any residue off.

    DON'T USE GOOF-OFF
or you'll screw your paint up!

If you have a heat gun, hair dryer, heater that you can heat it up a little, it should come off nice and easy.

I took mine off, i put a propane heater next to the bed to heat it up and they came off in one piece.

did it to both of my tacomas an 03 and 08 using a hair dryer to heat it up some and then wd40 to get the residue off, paint was fine underneath and not discolored.

They do work great for stuff that doesn't want to come off in one piece, but the bedside stickers usually do, and come off quicker by hand.

    Heat gun.

I strongly recommend you avoid any chemicals what so ever to remove them. No matter what anyone says nothing is truly paint safe.

What I did was have my window tint guy remove them with a heat gun and then I wiped clean with isopropyl alcohol diluted in water and then used a clay bar to remove any remaining adhesive.

DO NOT USE GOO GONE OR ANY OTHER CHEMICALS. It may take a couple years before you notice what it did to your paint and it won't be worth it. Take your time and use basic steps.

You need to be extra careful when using a heat gun. That can take the paint off with the decal, if it's held too close for too long.

I haven't heard of any issues with either Goo Gone, or WD. I've used both on painted surfaces with no issues.

OP says he has an 05' so the chance of coming off as one piece is undoubtedly diminished from 12 years of exposure.

On the issues of decal removal. I bought a TX Baja edition black in color, it only has the small decal on the upper corner of the bed. My question is does anybody make a TX Baja decal in any other color besides black? Thanks in advance
