Random question fellas. Been debating on ordering the Icon stage 2 kit with AAL and have a couple of questions for you Alabama guys. With that kit would upgraded UCA's be recommended? Also, I have no experience with suspension and would prefer having someone that knows what they are doing handle the install. I've had a couple of local shops give me quotes but both pressured me into buying a lift kit from them and didn't seem to like the fact that I wanted to provide my own lift for them to install. Both told me they wouldn't warranty the work on brands they don't sale and quote me nearly $400 on the install. My local Toyota dealership quoted me $500 and said that would include an ensuing alignment that would be needed and come with a 12 moth warranty on the work.

Would y'all trust a dealership with installing a lift? Do those prices seem in line with lift install quotes?

I would trust us to install the lift for the usual going rate of pizza and beer. Yes, UCAs are needed...I recommend UCAs with any lift personally they make the ride so much nicer.

Me personally, if the dealership is offering a 12 month warranty on the install of the lift, you have nothing to worry about. If anything goes wrong with it, it will be well within the first 12 months.

You didn't ask, but I wouldn't recommend doing an AAL. Having been there and done that, the stock leafs are pretty shitty and an AAL is just a band-aid. Save a little bit more and get an OME pack. Just a friendly recommendation.

    EDIT:
    This x2.

that's so funny I almost forgot to laugh. peerunner....sheesh. I've used it plenty lol. I just have to find time when I can to go, and usually nothing is happening when I have time. That being said I'm looking forward to all that we have planned this year and I will be BUILT for these trips (AOP, Moab, Red Clay Rally, etc.)

Save your $500 for upper control arms and bring the truck up the @TacoAlaMode 's Toyota specialist garage and we can hook you up with one easy payment of pizza and beer.

You guys are too nice offering up the help! I just might take y'all up on it. Just hoping there's another group buy or sale in Icons sometime soon. Will be doing some research on leaf packs in the meantime! I haven't been up that way in a while but if y'all help with the install I may owe y'all some dances at the furnace or something afterward in addition to the aforementioned pizza and beer (for those that can go to such a place). Haha

we just like doing truck stuff, and I believe we've been involved in enough lifts we can do it....well, tell you what to do and let you be the muscle haha. That's how I got broken in, the guys sat back and told me what to do while I installed my King's.
