Got mine at Headstrong. They have a kit that includes longer center pin bolts. Also, their shim has a slot that allows you to just loosen your ubolts and slide in a different degree shim in case you have to change angles in the future.

Ive seen that. I asked Chris over PM where he got that information. It was a private source, not Bilstein. Therefore not authoritative. I like to my own research, and I'll continue searching. Thanks.

Yeah looks interesting for sure.

Wasn't sure where he got it, wasn't mentioned in that thread IIRC.

Curious to hear if you ever find out.

I will inquire on that. I am just not looking forward to pulling the whole pack right now to shim.

hey crom! Plan to visit Joshua tree soon and have been thinking about entering through Berdoo trail. What are your thoughts on a prerunner with good tires making it through?

I take it if I want to put in 3* shims I'll have to drop my leafs out. C clamp, remove center bolt and put new center bolt in with shim then put bump stop back on? Ugh

Or can I just use the slotted shim and stuff it in there?

You might need a longer center bolt anyway (if you go the slotted shim route)

That's the way I'd do it.

You can stand on the pack to releive pressure in leiu of c clamp. Works fine.

If you have enough length on center pin you can reuse it if in good shape. Although some say best to replace with new.

I've never used the slotted shims. Obstensibly they seem like less work, unless a new center pin is required.

I have the slotted shim. It works just fine.
It's the same amount of work during the initial installation, because you still need to pull the pack, add a new/longer center pin, then add the slotted shim.
The convenience factor is when you have to possibly change to a different degree shim. Then you can loosen the ubolts, slide out the previously installed slotted shim, slide the new slotted shim and tighten everything up.
