Might start a lift war here but can you point out real world examples of where your lift can take your truck that my lift cannot? I don't think it's a matter of "more" but perhaps different.

Just making sure that a few of the people newbies here who haven't decided on a lift know that Old Man Emu is a great brand and has thousands upon thousands of satisfied customers all over the world... representing a much larger "Overland" group than Kings do.

I wouldn't want anyone to think they HAVE to spend 3k on a lift when they in fact do not.

Moab may very well determine where your lift can take you. As Justin mentioned earlier the shocks are too short with OME. My setup has more flex and also more capability of flex. I'm not even sure what setup you specifically have, but adjustable coilovers and obviously the King's shocks themselves provide a better ride.

I don't think anyone will argue that your shocks have more travel than my OME shocks. The question really is are you going to actually use that extra travel with an overland style truck?

What I mean is that these Tacoma trucks with their little 3 inch lifts and 33" tires are not rock crawlers. They never will be without diving into the custom fab world which is a different topic. So my question was, where can your "overland" style truck go that my "overland" style truck cannot go?

I won't speak to ride quality because I haven't ridden in your truck (I'd like to) but I don't have any complaints with the ride quality of my OME suspension at the same time.

@stronghammer might have another shield holster build coming up if you're still in the market just sayin. the last one (actually did 3 for the same guy this is one of the 3) I did was for a truck mount.

I won't disagree with you. I just simply went with what I consider to be the best with the capabilities I may or may not need/want for any trips we go on. Consider choccolocco or possibly the red clay rally myself and justin are doing. OME vs. Kings may be the difference in getting past a certain spot and/or going around it. Going around is usually not fun to me, but if it prevents damage I'm in. You're welcome to ride in my truck, it makes lots and lots of noises haha!

ohmahgeezus yes. I am in the market for that. I haven't carried mine for the simple fact I have no way to carry it in the truck. how is that mounted?

I just left the back piece a little large to screw thru, I'm not sure if he used like 1/4" bolts or what, but just a couple of holes and bolts, adjust the cant however u want and torque that sucker down

I really don't want to screw through the console if I can avoid it. Is there a way to design it so a clip goes over into the cup holder section?

I can max my travel before my shocks max out with my OME + using my stock lower control arms which I am sure you are too... without a long travel kit all that extra travel you have really isn't even being used anyway.

Your Kings are nice, I'm sure their quality matches their price but don't make OME seem like it's the "wrong" way to go. Not everyone's budget, needs, or bragging rights desires are the same.

oh no I don't disagree with you. I don't know much about OME, I'm simply going off of what Justin and Chris have said about theirs, and that's with them doing the same stuff I have.

r u kidding me? u put a hole in your fender that's over 4" haha jk. I had actually thought that self adhesive Velcro would work but it might not for u off road too well, I can prolly come up with something with a little bit of time

I think a lot of time people get bitten by the "one upper bug" and just want the cooler shit when they don't need it. Let's switch trucks next time we ride together and see if you can't keep driving the OME.

haha hey...the snorkel was a necessity that people don't understand. I also don't plan to move the snorkel. I'd like to be able to move the holster if I wanted to. velcro may work, I would just be concerned of any residue left behind if I ever remove it but that's another minor issue. I take better care of my interior than the outside lol

is that about where u want it (or on the console anyway)? I have looked at a few designs for steering columns too, and the trim on the seat that covers the hinge may also be an option

This is the holster I use for in the truck stowing. It's from Walmart and the clip on the holster fits perfect here.
