So, I replaced my spare today with an entirely new wheel, tire and TPMS sensor. I fully expected to have my TPMS light come on requiring the subsequent trip to the tire shop to have the new sensor programmed to the system. But, no light. Is the system smart enough to recognized a new sensor? Does it just look for 5 sensors...any 5 will do? Or should I have my system checked?

    Thoughts? Anyone? Beuler?

The computer can only recognize a total of 4 sensors. So as long as the 4 main tires are initialized you won't get a light.

I could swear it monitors the spare as well.

Seriously? My '06 monitored the spare, so I naturally assumed my '15 did as well. Crazy!

Nope, I think they stopped putting them in the spares between 09-10.

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
I'm pretty sure my '14 doesn't have a TPMS in the spare because the stem is just an ordinary rubber one instead of the rigid screw-in type the other 4 have. The strange thing though was I had one rim refinished a few weeks ago and swapped it out for the spare. I drove around for a day before the TPMS light came on. The 2nd day without the stock rim it started flashing everytime I drove until I got my rim back.

And the manual list them as a Temp spare. My 2007 had it but 2010 and 2015 did not.
