20 years in the engine and boiler room of ships usually along the equator some place. Pacific, Indian Ocean, Gulf, etc. 140 was pretty normal sometimes get down to 120. Depends on where you were in the plant too.

Worse times are when the plant dies for some reason and the ship goes dead in the water, also generated electricity. Have to be in the plant to figure out how to get back on line. We would rotate personnel out every 5 min. it would hit more than 200*. Except for me, it was my engine room. Something went wrong it was my responsibility to get it back on line. I was the only one that could fix some of the equipment when we weren't down too. So would work on it until it was back up. Good times. Actually in a way they were. Looking back in retrospect anyhow, maybe not so much at the time. Did what had to do.

 

So that's why ya live in ice now.

 

Why I didn't mind moving here

Although moved here from Asheville, NC one of the best places I had ever lived. My father had just died of cancer and a head hunter contacted me. Timing was right. Figured I wasn't smart enough to cure cancer but could help those that might. It is that ideological stuff that always gets me into trouble LOL.

Not caught up, just stopping by. Need to do a partial clear on the driveway. Kristi went out to get her hair done; gonna run snowthrower down that side of drive. Still snowing, this a good one and we needed it before the subzero spell forecasted to follow it up.

Hey Mike . Can you take a look at both pairs of Lowas I'm looking at and see if and what differences there might be please? The expensive ones look more heavy duty than the others which I wear.

As near as I can tell these are a bit lighter than their standard hiking back packing boots. With a tighter closer fit around the ankle. Not sure if it has more ankle support because of that no mention is made of it. Thinking you don't need a load bearing boot so much so these may be a good all around boot. About all I can see. Of course the main question is do they feet your feet and ankles and make them happy! My 2 cents anyhow.

I think it'll work out to 10+ inches since Friday. And yes, we needed it.
Just cleared the half; supposed to continue on and off thru tonight. I'll clean off the Ram and do the whole driveway over tomorrow when it clears up some.

Coffee and then a shower, dogs gave me that look when I was wiping them off.
