Yes, @scottalot, you should look into building a 10/22. They are every bit as fun as building ARs. You can do TONS of stuff to them. I used to build those before I got into building ARs. rimfirecentral.com is your friend!

It is fun but expensive ... An expense I just can't afford.. I felt the downhill spiral taking affect and I needed to just stop before I regeared and threw 35s on it and started cutting up my DD.. had to stop before I went too far.. and getting my 2015 was a blessing and at times I just felt I was pushing the blessings I have been given too far. Thus living modestly and practical... I'm keeping my wheels and lift only cause it would cost more to switch back than keep it.. bumpers and RTT and accessories not so much

Nothing wrong with being fiscally responsible, and don't let anybody tell you otherwise... There are definitely more important things in life

Hey fellows, new to the forum and new to Toyota. Born and raised in Anderson SC. Just bought a new 2017 DCSB TRD Sport 4x4. Shes bone stock but have modest mods in mind. Would like to join in on some rides! IMG_20161212_162446724.jpg IMG_20161212_160721021.jpg

I was really fond of your overland build route, felt Like I would have gone a similar route.

Just tossing it out there, but maybe the gal you want to meet might share the things you enjoy, maybe want to go camping somewhere you need all the good stuff. :notsure:

    Modest...

Very few get away with modest. That mod bug bites and you're done. Say goodbye to your money.

Would you describe your build as light, modest, or extreme?

Hmmm. Modest or mediocre is how I describe my build. It works for what I need it to do. There are things I would change if I had more money or maybe a different truck. But I am content with my truck as is.

I know pal! I used to teach you in RA's. We are cousins somewhere down the line. We're also friends on FB! Love your truck by the way!

@EricL great question. My goal was modest, while maintaining best ON road manners. I can do anything I WANT to do, off road.

Plus, I like the OEM style.

I did find a woman that like those things.. I'll miss it all.. but work gets in the way of the dream.. other priorities .. religion.. family.. have become more of a centerpiece than what used to be overland... I'll still overland.. and go on trips.. I'll never stop that.. just won't be putting myself into places where I am breaking my DD that I don't have the money to fix or repair
