Posted this in another thread a little bit ago but I spoke with the service manager of my dealership tonight. We actually ran into each other at the local barber shop here and he was telling me how they've had a ton of problems coming in on the 2017s. I asked him if they were new issues or the same as the 2016s -- he said the problems are the exact same.

Some people have no issues with their 2017 or 2016. Others have had more issues. It seems to be a bit of a crapshoot.

Mine is pretty good as well, but there are some with some serious quality control problems. That said, I do have a few stupid problems like transmission flares, rear end howls, a B pillar rattle, poorly wrapped steering wheel leather, binding temperature control knobs, and whistling control arms.

Bring it to another dealer's service dept. You will take a major hit to the wallet it you turn it in for another one.

Yes, except when he needed the service to address the finishing glue.
I get a buzzy vibration in my left leg, then I realize its "war pigs" cranked all the way up. :crapstorm:

Picky buyer, truck with problems, and a crappy dealer. Not a good mix.

OP - best of luck with your next midsize truck. Maybe a Ridgeline?

OP may have been a little pissed with the quality control and just stacked up all the details. That's all

What a terrible unconstructive or helpful reply. OP paid $35k for a new truck, it shouldn't have warped rotors, glue separating, low transmission fluid and a rear diff howl that will likely get replaced like my 16's did. OP has a right to be upset. He should let Toyota try to fix it though, which is what I did and even if the product lets you down, they're customer service is usually exceptional if you go into it calmly and with the warranted complaints/issues. Good luck OP. Message me if you want help with Toyota corporate, I had a 16 that had a bunch of issues and 2 rear diffs replaced ended up moving into a 17 as the solution with Toyota CS help.

Oh get off your high horse. Picky refers to having to have someone else pick some glue off a door.

OP already stated he was getting rid of the truck and it was his last Toyota. Not entirely sure why anyone needs to "make an exit" on a forum but off he goes. Quality an issue, maybe Honda would be a better choice for him.

When they replace the transmission or motor under warranty it's usually rebuilt too; not brand new.

I don't recall the OP stating most of this, it's just your interpretation of his problems, with some drama added for effect.

Not looking for a flame war. I've served my time servicing a 22re from 1989 to 2014 and a 3RZ 1999 until given to family. I know my way around cars....I just expected more from a brand new truck.

The glue could of been picked off easily but the almost 40k loan I currently have on the truck robs me of motivation for fixing production mistakes and doing bushing repairs on my own time.

It's not hard to check and see they checked his rear fluids. It's what I would do. Nothing mentioned about trans fluid even being checked.. Maybe the vibrations came from blasting Black Sabbath? Happens to me. I mentioned he should check into having rotors replaced, not cut. I feel he could pick his own glue off, I saw nothing about separation.
