now that most of the work is done wiring in the switch should be a breeze haha like I said, I hooked up a 9v battery and was measuring 8v on the white, and 0 on the blue until I pushed the button, then I was getting 8v on the blue. and I'm assuming the remaining black is the ground haha so if you hook the white to green, blue to red 1 and black to black should be good. the red 2 wire on the switch is your illumination wire that has to be hooked up to a power source that gets power when key is in ACC position. or just don't hook it up and have no illumination haha but if your pops knows how to solder, then I would definitely get him to lend a hand haha cant beat a good solder joint with shrink wrap.

 

The one thing that's "scaring" me about this is ow to figure out/find the fuse in the fuse panel that will light up the switch when the dash lights are on, for the add-a-fuse. But I guess I'll figure it out when the time comes.

 

I put mine in the blank shown here. Works great. I installed two 5 amp fuses in the tap. Photo is from @nazlax10 !

 

Swapped my 30w Flood light for a 100w Flood light. Made the brackets out of some leftover steel tabs I had. I might change the mount to something different so that it doesn't stick out as far as it does now.

 

what year is your truck? I have an 09 sport and I had a blank in the fuse panel behind the coin tray. middle row, second one in from left. tested it with my voltmeter and only gets 12v in acc. I put a add a fuse there to power my usb/aux.

 

you happen to know off hand what the fuse in the middle row, second in from left is? mine was blank and gets power when key is in acc position

Installed some wheelers bump stops today.

 

Washed it, put it in the garage, started taking stuff out in preparation to leave it at the body shop next week. Also pulled the one bolt that was holding the mudflap on so I don't lose the flap later.

 

Got some stuff up for sell yesterday for those who are interested. I got some used U-bolts and some headlights that aren't listed for sell as well. I figured someone might have a use for these items. I'm open to trades as well, so feel free to ask.

Made my own ghetto A-pillar phone mount...

Butchered an old Garmin Nuvi (or whatever) suction cup mount and used a regular M6 65mm Bolt with a little aluminum spacer.

It's too high. I already know that and the angle isn't ideal but I know how to fix all that I just need time to rebuild it.

And yes, I did paint the head of the bolt with a little black acrylic paint I had in my art tackle box. I'm crafty as fuck.

 

I would invest in some longer brake lines, they look a little stretched at that angle.

 

Had a similar setup in my truck!

Use the fuse that says TAIL. Then your switch will only light up when the taillights are on i.e. parking lights/headlights on.
