4-Runners are sweet and I've always wanted one but with no wife/kids it seems like major overkill for me

Yep I test drove one, loved it, felt solid, but hard to justify as a single guy. Maybe convince my future wife someday.

I wanted a 4runner but I couldn't get approved for one. plus I wasn't a huge fan of the leather

So you guys with no wife no kids can justify a DCSB but not a 4Runner?

That argument would make sense if you all were driving AC

Are credit requirement higher for a 4R than a Taco?

    The make 4R without leather

Have you seen the resale for a DCSB vs an AC. Easy choice. Had an AC before, never going back.

It feels less like a "family car". it's only me or me and the GF usually, or friends in the back. I do like having the double cab. I don't know, I'd feel weird commuting in a 4-Runner

I think I worked it out to be $5k+ more.

It's my first time buying a brand new vehicle and I'm young (25) with decent credit/history and I was pushing the limit of what I'd get approved for without a cosigner.

Yep the same year, mileage, config AC holds less value than its DC counterpart and the new price is close if not the same. The DCs are more in demand and thus hold higher value. Don't get me wrong love an AC truck, they look great, but just today's world, everyone wants 4 door truck whether they truly need it or not.

I get more crap commuting by myself in my Pro than my Lx570.

I get the "why are you commuting in a truck with empty bed..." not realizing my 570 is much more costly on my commute ....

Tell that to the diesel bros I see at the track. Lifted heavy duty trucks they drive by themselves and commute to school with.

University around here are populated with M3 and Range Rovers

I would have to go to the 909 to see dieselbros and I have no inclination to go that third world country ...

Hey now, not all dirt bike riders are redneck monster hat bros. I have 3 degrees and working on my 4th, lol. I like my sport of every weekend possibly ending up in a wheel chair lol.
