What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Trailer lights on my '14.

Popped off one of my rear door panels to take a look at the insides for when I install my Rockford Fosgate 6.5" speakers back there...

Man, getting the stupid power window switch off was a pain in the ass!

While I was in there I cleaned off the built up dust/road grime off the door and inside of the trim panel. Yuck.

This weekend I'm thinking I'm going to go all out and put in the sound deadening material I bought throughout all 4 doors since I'll be putting in the 6.5"s and tweaters that came with them. Supposed to rain so it should be a good indoor project.

 

Installed SOS sliders over the weekend. These things are awesome -

I washed all the crap they put on our roads from our snow storm we had and put it in the carport. It's supposed to rain all week but I got almost all of salt and the brine solution they put out off of it.

 

Can I use a single 10 amp fuse, or does it have to be 2 of the 5?

Just picked this up from autozone. Right thing?

That should work. I normally use the low profile mini add a fuse, but I think that'll work. As far as fuses you only use one in this case. The fuse holder in line with the red wire is what powers your accessory. The other one powers your factory spot where the add a fuse is plugged in, which in this case is nothing. As far as fuse size anything mentioned in the instructions or was there an inline fuse that came with it?

 

On the box it said 2 10A fuses, since it can take 2.

 

Finally got my lift wheels and tires installed. Kings all around, Dakars, SR8 Matte Dark Bronze 17x8.5, Nitto Trails 295/70/17

No I mean the instructions of the accessory. I think you said a light bar, right?

 

OH!!! My bad. It's for a light bar, but what I got this for is for the switch I ordered from CH4x4, so it lights up when my dash lights are on.

Oh if this is only for the switch illumination put a 5a fuse in the add a fuse holder.

 

Gotcha. So I guess the switch doesn't need 10 to light up, only 5. But the add a fuse I got can do up to 10, right?!

 

That's correct. To light up the switch it won't even take 2 amps but a 5 is the smallest they make. The add a fuse can take up to 10a though.

 

Awesome sauce. I guess once I get my switch in I'll plug it all up. Hopefully it'll work just like @JD'STaco said, as far as plugging it into that empty slot and the switch only light up when I turn on my dash lights.

Will report back once I get the switch and try it all out.
