Got it. Did you trade in the Tacoma or sell it local? Just wondering what a salesperson would think of your Tacoma.

Anyways that SS is sick. I drove in a couple Holden's when I was down in Australia. I bet that thing is quick

I sold it to a member on here from Tx, shipped it down to him. I did drive it to the lot once, the salesman was baffled. I told him it was a one owner car, clean carfax, and was well maintained. I thought his head was gonna explode lol. He said "I don't even know how to value that thing!". He wanted it just to draw in customers. Should have rented it to him.

The SS rips! I've only had it to 140mph so far, but it handled it well.

Eh, see my Build Thread sig link. Too many mods to list.
I did 110 mph once down the gorge when my 2000 Honda Civic EX was fairly new. I recall that it got to 90 pretty easily, slower from 90-100, and then it took a bit longer to hit 110. It got a little shaky at that point, so I went back to a more reasonable speed. Ah....youth. :)

I've done 90 in the Taco, but wasn't really trying to speed that time...just passing some other vehicles and stayed at that speed for a while. Nothing happened, but I'm no longer that interested in excessive speeding.

    Ah....age.

I hit 138 in my matrix where the electronic speed limiter cut me off, 111 in a 1990 Camry I had again electronic speed limiter, 103 in my Tacoma once more the speed limiter, about 145 in a former coworker's v10 Audi and that was because I ran out of space, 140 in a friend's built up Honda Accord. I haven't tried to see what my current truck can do, but as I recall, full size trucks and SUVs typically cut off somewhere just shy of 100.

For driving fast in controlled limited access situations? I'm sure everybody on here is like me, we all follow all posted speed limits, and only in designated areas do we test the capabilities of our vehicles. Places such as race tracks, closed courses, or air strips, all properly and legally borrowed/rented are what I'm sure we all use for testing speed and handling.

I completely agree with you problem is the mods don't like when people talk about high speeds at all

They don't like street racing. I've posted this pic a million times on this forum without issue, but I took it in Germany on the autobahn in my old '05. Safety third! Here in the states there are still a lot of places to legally go fast, including the Oregon Raceway Park and Walla Walla dragstrip. I also work at many of the regional airports and drive on the runways all the time. I do not have a speed limit on the runway.

Yeah, I used to drive from Frankfurt to Munich with the cruise set there for much of the journey. Still got passed by station wagons and vans.

So you are saying that allegedly these mods are attempting to control something they have little to no control over?!?!

What speeds I have attained in my past life in a non-Tacoma have no relevance to the current Tacoma sitch...(taco will not go past 70-75)
If we are nervous or concerned with image about what is legal and not legal (like the dude that tried to quote an RCW and got called on it and then never returned):
    • High Clearance bumpers would be illegal :anonymous:
    • Missing mud flap would be illegal
    • Hydro steering would be illegal

    Nevertheless...
I remember a time in 2011 where I was allegedly piloting an 03 RS6 just north of Oceanside, CA on a familiar local road that quite possibly crosses border to border on the west side of the USA.
We were invited to go pilot a few R8 on another local road nearby that TV show (Really stupid housewives of Orange County or something like that) to inquire on what an R8 will do in a real world experience.
Somehow the 200 mph speedometer must have been broken as only read 160...
