My truck needs quite a bit of love before it hits any real trails...lol.

I don't wanna be THAT guy that breaks down every mile or so.

    She's 16 years old!

Just needs suspension reset, new CV's, need some recovery gear and a dedicated tool set. Other than that, its probably good to go.

I would think you could wheel LBL like that.

Something there for everyone. Definitely some places in Turkey Bay OHV park that stock rides won't go, as for the fire roads throughout LBL you'll be fine. Last year we even split up in two groups with lifted vs stock rides. You can always come and run the easier trails and ride along with someone out to the hairy stuff.

i was BONE STOCK. including the stock, absolutely horrible, kinda bald, rugged failures (bfg rugged terrain). i got stuck twice, the second time was only because the whole group stopped while going uphill and i couldn't get traction... no real damage on the trip, only a few surface pinstripes that i could buff out if i really wanted to. we'll tell you if you should go with an easier route (i'm sure we'll have multiple groups)
    more like:
group 1 - wanted to do some serious trials
group 2 - wanted to do easier trails and explore the park (lots to see. i had a great time doing this)
the only thing tentative about me is what time i'm leaving. and if my wife is coming... i probably won't know for a while

Its more personal, than equipment based.

It has to do with the little knowledge I have, and confidence in myself about fixing.

Also, when I hear or feel things I automatically consider the worst possible scenario.

not trying to pressure you into doing something you don't want to. just saying, you have an awesome truck.
also, if you end up at some sort of meet, i'm sure guys would be willing to answer questions or help you track something down... and this site is an awesome source for diagnosing

There's gonna be 30+ people there that I assume are all helpful when it comes to Tacomas so I wouldn't worry there, @Roll Tide .

In other news, I just bought a Midland 75-822 for other purposes, but am going to be using it in the truck as well, What are you guys running as far as antennas go? I'd prefer something that is removable with minimal work. Mostly just trying to figure out where I can stick an antenna that makes routing the ground cable and the line into the interior easiest

The 'Lil Wil'? That's what I'm looking at. Where do you mount it, and run the lines?

I can't decide if I want to do that, or get an accessory holder for my rails and get a longer fiberglass antenna in there. Some folks think the longer antenna is superior...but I thought what you've got above the roof line mattered way more.

    Scratches, dents, lots of squeaks.
Ya, I need help figuring out where to mount my CB in the taco as well. I'll also be running the lil will. IN my runner I had it mounted to the side of the center console next to my knee. Couldn't stand it there. I would like in the cubby in front of the shifter but not sure if its deep enough with my manual shifting.
