So after a new $300.00 actuator still no 4 wheel drive.

off road is amazing, and on road with 886's at least IS negligible in my experience

Maybe the electronics? There is an ECU for the 4wd system behind the glove box

 

Tim doesnt need his 4wd ECU anymore

 

I wanna swap one in and reboot the old one, do they just have torn boots?

 

AND! It'd take a bunch more weight off!

 

Unbelievable how hard it is to crack the case on this thing...

 

the actuator you just put in, did you open up the black cover and do the soldering mod??

 

I'm not going to need my ADD anymore soon either

 

@jrzyshore another question, the actuator you just removed off the truck, have you opened that black cover and inspected the inside? I am curious to see how the inside looks from the one you just removed.

Is it the t-case actuator? Pretty sure the pic you posted earlier was the ADD actuator.
I have my stock t-case one that I know works if you want to give that a shot.

No, the boots ate fine. It's the main shafts. They're considerably eroded.
Note the circumference difference of the bulk of the mid shaft compared to the end section. Much thinner. I wouldn't put much trust in them.

 

Wow I have never seen a cv like that before, crazy what the salt will do, it's like this state tries to destroy everyone's cars. in that case I'll just have to search around for one on eBay or something

Its kind of working now. The one that was on there was from another formal member. But I did take that one apart and solder the contacts and it was clean inside. I did notice that I can hear only on relay click when I turn it on and when it does kink in to 4 wheel drive I here 2 relays click.
