Front lift but stock in the back?

I did a search, but nothing much came up.

Has anyone done 2.5-3" of lift in the front and then left it stock in the rear?

This will probablly level it and then give it some lean.

Will this allow me either to run 285/76/16 or 255/85/16? Whichever one.

The front will sit Higher than the rear with 2.5" of lift up front. If you like the baja racer PreRunner look then thats fine.

I got Toytec coilovers to level the front--then raise up later if I decided to lift the rear w/ AALs. Currently have about 1.5-2" front lift and 265s

 

Tim-is that picture with no lift in the back?

Dont want MAJOR lean in the back...just want the front a tad bit higher than the back. And if I do AAL then I'll have to get longer shocks...

Rear is completely stock, non TSB springs and 265/70/17 BFG ATs

If you want to really dial in your lift, I'd suggest coilovers up front.

 

I would love coilovers, but I'm a broke highschooler who just wants his truck to look good. Not going to abuse it and take it off road...Just towing. Thanks

 

running a 2.5 in up front, and only the tsb springs in the back. front is about 1.25 inches higher than the back, but i kinda like the look. it also stiffened up the ride a little, which i also like. here's a before and after

 

Whats Tsb springs? Is that stock? I love the look of that!

 

3 inch lift and stock in the rear. I have 265/65/16

 

Sweet Kyle. I have a 2001 Double cab so with around 2.5" in the front and wheel spacers ill be able to fit 285s?

 

TSB = technical service bulliten. for the 05+ tacomas there is a heavier duty set of springs you can get from toyota to replace the weak stock ones it ads +/- about 1 inch to the rear.

I think so my buddy has a 2000 extra cab tacoma and he has a 2.5" lift and he put 33/12.50/R15 which is a little bigger than 285 and it looks sick!! I think your truck will look bad ass for sure.

 

1st gen taco is whole other ballgame from the 2nd gen...

3" front lift on a 1st gen dcab will set you pretty nose high with a stock rear...

you will be able to fit 285-75-16s with 4" of wheel backspace...

for the rear, make sure you go with a long AAL if you go that route...

you can also look into shackles, but they will wear the stock leafs very quickly...

you will need longer rear shocks if you do lift it... you want to get into an 8.5" travel rear shock...

what kind of budget are you working with to do the lift?

 

2.5" on a dcab and 2.5" on a reg or xcab are not the same height with the 1st gens...

 

Pretty damn close it will still hold the 285's for him though

 

i have had my 01 dcab for 9 years now... i tried it on mine and a couple other 1st gen dcabs over the years...

its close, but the noise of the inner sidewalls rubbing on the frame on turns and articulation gets annoying...

of course, he could always blast his radio and he won't notice the noise...
