My Lexus Transmitter arrived in the mail today. Stopped by Robinson Toyota in Jackson yesterday and inquired about
programming the Lexus transmitter for my 16 Taco and they want $100 plus $50.00 to laser cut the key. So, I found
a locksmith in Jackson (Crocker's Locksmith Service) who will do both for $80.00. I will have it done next Tuesday while I'M in Jackson to have my tires rotated and the TS-B 077-16 Rev 1 done.

Got my key. Bought cable and software on eBay. Programmed it. Got emergency key cut for 30 bucks. A 300 dollar mod that I didn't need. Thanks Tacoma world

I know it's in the thread somewhere but could you send the links for cable and software?

The software is a little confusing to use

I'm also curious if a key card already programed to another car could be reused.

I really don't see why it wouldn't work. It's not like the key has any memory or anything. It is only transmitting an RF signal (or something like that).

I went ahead and got a new card key from the dealer and programmed it today. Used Techstream with the eBay cable I got, and programmed it using 2016 Tacoma w/ smart key. Went quick and easy, and the key works perfectly!

I had one of these with my Lexus, kept it in my wallet. Ended up losing my wallet, which of course had my drivers license with my address on it as well as a key to my car. I deleted the key quickly enough, but it still sucks.

Turns out someone found my wallet the same night I lost it and sent me a message on Facebook asking if I wanted it back. Went to my 'Other' folder and I didn't see the message for about a year. No response after that. Curses.

I still have a bit of hope that I might get my card key back.

Yikes. Definitely something to think about. Did you have to hit up the dealer to do the reset?

The dealer can delete the key codes from the vehicle. Or if a person has Techstream and the cable, it can be done easily.

Thanks, I glanced at this youtube vid and it seemed like it needed a code from TIS, suggesting the home-user of Techstream might not be able to do so. Hadn't researched any further at this point.

Glad to know it can be done. Should I go with the key and if that situation happens I can swap cars around and put the truck inside the locked garage until I get it sorted.

I would think you'd only need a code to do a full reset/reseed. Just deleting keys can likely be done with a Techstream Lite. Not sure though, since I work at a dealer I have access.

Haha. I have it in my cart with that same code applied.

It has to be the correct one. It's the same pn as the op posted. Searching that key on eBay there are a few different pn's too.

Maybe it's called a sub assembly because it doesn't have the key too. So not complete.

It is called a sub assembly apparently. Here is a screen shot of the order confirmation from when I ordered I just found in my email for you.
