Hit a tire couple weeks back doing about 60 in moderate traffic. 2015 off road. By the time my brain registered "tire" I had already hit it.

Insurance quote is $2200 but probably fix myself. Plan on steel pelfreybilt single hoop but missed the damn one day $250 off sale on the 30th. Also going to do a raptor style grill (I think) from BPF. Might do some headlight upgrade but not sure what yet. Suspension, tires, and wheels will come by summer and haven't decided on what yet. Probably one of the icon stage 2,3,4. I'm still researching all that.

Anyone have suggestions on anything else to do while the bumper and grill get replaced??

The bracket on headlight and grill are broken but completely operational. Still have the fog light. It's fine but was hanging.

The good is ok but looks displaced because the headlight is sunk in a bit. The fender does have some damage but iv got a buddy with a body shop whe said he can massage that out easily.

Tire didn't have a rim on it. Otherwise would have been a worse day.

You got lucky! I nailed a tire on a rim, and my damage bill was $12, 545!

I'd say the only bad luck I had out of it was missing the pelfreybilt one day 12/30 $250 sale. It's past time I started modding my truck!! All iv got is bed cover, tool box under bed cover and console vault.

Holy cow man!! Yeh this wasn't as bad of an impact as I would have expected. I hit it and ran over it too. I'm sure alignment is out but prob wait on suspension and such.

I lost the upper and lower control arms, the steering knuckle, bumper, fender, radiator support flare, fog light, headlight, tire rim, and a BUNCH more!! Set off my steering wheel airbag, too.

Yeh that's crappy! I'm not sure I'd want a car that had $12k in damage. But not much you can do at the time.

I didn't even stop. It didn't effect the drive at all other than the turbulence noise from the air. I just kept going where I was headed. The Range Rover behind me had to do some maneuvering to miss it all too.

Well, when I picked her up after a month and 10 days in the body shop, the VERY first thing I did was to find a parking lot, which happened to be directly across the street, and did acceleration and braking tests with no hands on the wheel to be sure everything tracked dead straight. It did, and there have been NO issues since, so I think the body shop actually got everything right on spec. Thank goodness...Even worked a deal with the body shop and got my 4 new KO2s for about $100 out of pocket, mounted and balanced!

Yeh, that is all pretty easy stuff to put on but adds up in parts and labor! Glad it worked out and was fixed to your expectations.

This will work out too. I'm gonna get some cool new gear.

So any recommendations on parts or what to do while I'm planning this? Guess I'll need stiffer springs at some point? Should be doing this with the icon upgrade.

Hey, I just had a similar incident happen to me, luckily it only damaged the steering knuckle. Does anyone have the part number for it and know where it can be ordered from? My damage is also on the driver side. The shop i towed the truck to says they can get it from toyota for $400. (insurance not paying). I need to find one for cheaper. Thanks
