I don't mess with canidae or any other big brand. Also don't fuck with Walmart. I stick with small dog food manufacturers with good reviews. That victor dog food is gen business.

Thanks. The price is pretty good for grain-free. I think after this bag of Canidae my next order will be this brand.

Both of my dogs get irritation in their ears from time to time. Their skin was looking red and dry. One of them started to puke immediately after eating a couple times. He also didnt seem interested in his food at all. Some of that could be a result of some allergies to the old food. Switched over to a reduced grain Canidae about two weeks ago and noticed some pretty big differences within a couple days. I am looking to go completely grain-free now, but also stay within budget with two 60-70 lb dogs.

Do you go directly to the new brands or do you mix them for a few meals first? We've never had allergic reactions but when we have switched in the past we always mixed for a couple days before removing the old brand completely.

We mixed it as well. Started off mixing a little bit at first and made gradual changes over the course of about 6 or 7 days until we were using just the new food.

Know a guy that hauls 3 on a flatbed. They never have fallen off lol. Teach them not to jump off, and don't drive like an idiot

In 12 years, my dog never once jumped out of the truck bed but I'm only going half a mile to the lake at 20 mph, never more than 30mph or more than a couple miles. However he did jump out of my car window once at 25 mph, he learned real quick not to do that again. Fortunately he was ok.

I'm not sure how real it is, but they say some big brands buy euthanized animals for their "protein". Some say that's the reason some dogs have "allergic" reactions and get sick from food just from trying it for the first time. Both my girls are 60#, I go through a 40# bag of chow every 3-4 weeks. It is what it is when you love your dogs. Like I said, paying $60-70 every 3 weeks was getting expensive, but if I couldn't find anything nearly as good as that expensive stuff, I would've kept buying it. Also if trying to narrow down if they have a food allergy, you have to get rid of all treats. Grain free everything.

I had no idea about euthanized cats and dogs being used. Grain-free everything for my dogs.

Just wish they had smaller bags so I could try it for the girls and not have to worry about giving away 30lbs of food if they don't like it

Thanks! I housed and took care a friend's Brittany over most my college years while he was traveling out of state for work. Once I was done with school and he was settled he went back to him cus I couldn't take him with me. Since then, I always wanted another one. They're awesome dogs!
