I dunno... the service manager saying (just 1 fine statement) "it would have blown up by now" doesnt make me feel better.

If anyone here is from california, steer clear of san luis obispo toyota unless u can check everything they have done and have xray vision, and know what looks right and wrong despite not having a baseline to begin with.

 

yeah. Wow. Not only is it common sense, I'm pretty sure its a step in the instructions. I dunno about ya'll, but when I installed mine I looked at the plug and then removed it before installing any hoses lol

 

Were you boosting around hard on it? How long has it been installed? *toolazytorereadeverything

 

3yrs or almost 4 i think (pretty sure i have a pic of the install date), i dont beat on it all the time, and i thankfully dont drive much.
But it has 2 death valley trips on it.

I also dont tow, and rarely have over 300lbs of anything in the bed.

I mean, he's not wrong. If nothing happened now, nothing will. I bet you heat soaked pretty much immediately once the truck warmed up. So really you just lost a bunch of HP. The only thing I'd be worried about it your coolant pump now. It's been deadheading for 3 years now. Might wanna see about replacing that.

Definitely an oil change on the SC, and possibly the bearings. If you're really feeling motivated, pull the rotors and inspect for damage, but I wouldn't expect much.

Edit: oh wait you did replace the pump, right?

 

U know every tick or rattle is gunna drive me more crazy than usual for the next couple months.

 

Yeah it is lol. Grab a flash light and see if any tubes are bulging and check the heat exchanger vanes and everything. I doubt that pump puts out enough to damage anything like that, but you never know.

 

The hose i replaced was buldging. Thats another reasonni thought it may have had an internal blockage in the bend.
