    Does anybody know the horsepower for the 1st gen tacomas? I looked but didnt find anything that seemed reliable.

    I have a 3.4 v6

    Ok thats what I thought. So im probably just over 200 with my new flowmaster40. K&N intake is next.

    so, probably 165-170 to the wheels... Exhaust wont add 10 crank hp unfortunately :(

    Well......No. Flowmasters actually cause a loss in HP, and all the K&N's I have seen dynoed, have shown a 5 hp loss on the 3.4

    Really Flowmasters show a loss? I 100% noticed better acceleration and speed after I drove it(i just got in 3 days ago). More flow should mean more hp? I dont know, just makes sense haha

    2.25 from the Cata to the muffler, 2.5 out to a 3 stainless tip.

    Its a baffeled muffler. Doesnt really flow well. Sounds great though. If it felt better than stock, it could be due to "feeling" or being able to hear the engine rev. as opposed to not. also, many mufflers can alter the hp curve. It may beef up the bottom, only to cause a loss in the top end, or vice versa.

    Yeah makes sense, I just noticed when I opened it up and got going 70mph it was aot smoother at accelerated and much quicker?

    Now. losing 5hp from K&N doesnt make sense.

    Could sombody nail flowmaster for advertising that you gain hp and mpg after you get one of their exhuast systems? website says 5-7% and up to 1-2 mpg. (ill know that pretty quick)

    5-7% of 190crank hp is right around 10.

    The K&N is pulling hot air from the engine bay. Best mod for the money is the Deck Plate mod. Has dyno proven gains.

    Not really. Their fine print says "Up to", and "Depending on application"
