And did you experience the buzzing vibration in the steering wheel? And if you did...did it fix it?

No vibes in the steering wheel, just the rumble strip when decelerating. They replaced the leaf packs an added the steering wheel dampener. Truck is really good now.

    Awesome!!

Thanks for the info. I am trying to get to the bottom of the buzzing or vibrations that are in the steering wheel...

This is what I feel....At 55 to 65. Service appointment I had is moved back to next week due to ice storms this week here. They have already had it for a day and agnowledged the issue, but did a check of all TSBs and couldn't find anything. They want ti back for a week so that they can dive deeper.

Doubt its the rear drive shaft angle. The rumbling under breaking makes sense for that because negative axle wrap would tend to make the nose of the rear diff dive, causing an increased drive shaft angle and rumbling vibration. Thats why the shim fixes their issue, as it tips the pinion up further and reduces static driveshaft to pinion angle.

Mine feel more like its probably either in the front end. In fact, it may simply be a resonance in the steering column shaft or something at that speed. Part of me thinks slapping this "steering wheel damper" on might fix it alltogether. At the same time, i don't want to mask an underlying issue.

Curiosity got the best of me. Went and measured my angles. Pinion flange was like 3.8 and driveshaft was 6.6, for an included angle of 2.8......perfect for my access cab sport. Tsb says 1.7 to 3.7 for a nominal of 2.7.

No, mine is different. See above posts. Mine seems more like @IPNPULZ Its felt mostly in the steering wheel at 55 to 65. Just wanted to eliminate this as any related cause.

Stupid easy to measure with a smart phone though. Highly recommend so that you have more ammo to go after getting the tsb done if yours is out.

Rear shaft was running 6.6 as I said. Front shaft was 7.5 or so degrees and rear tcase flange was like 2.8 or 2.9 I think. Included angle at the tcase was probably 4.5ish according to those numbers.

I didnt pay as much attention to the rest since the rear angle was the only one in the tsb

I think a lot of this stems from the carrier bearing as well?

From what I am seeing is that the carrier ujoint and rear ujoint need to be at the same angle

There are no specs for that in the TSB. Mine carrier joint is less than 1 degree. For all intents and purposes, it behaves like a single striaght shaft. With that in mind, theorwtically the tcase to front shaft and pinion to rear shaft should be exactly the same. Mine is a little less than 2 degrees different, which doesnt seem like much. Id sooner thing the driveshaft might be out of balance rather than a driveline angle issue.

This is why I'm thinking they may have over looked this issue as this is the same as the 2nd gen drive line vibration. I think that's why they are shimming the rear leafs to Change the angle. I will know next week when we look at this possible issue.

Did anyone have there techs actually do the test it states in the TSB. My dealer is making me bring it so they can remove the drive shaft and confirm the rumble strip feature exists.
