Hey all. I just thought with all the negative stuff around, that I'd take a moment to say that I love my truck. This is my third toyota pickup and by far the best one yet. My first one went 232,000 miles before i sold it (the rusty one in my avatar), second one went 131,000 before I sold it.

I also have to say, for those that are down on Toyota right now about their quality declining, do you remember the 3VZE engine???????? The "3.slow V6"? With the notorious blown head gasket? Tell me your 2nd Gen tacoma isn't WAY better than that.

And tell me that you don't love how mean your truck looks in some ninny's rear view mirror!!

Ok, I'll chill now, I just wanted to say nice things about our trucks, because I think mine can hear people talking smack all the way out there in the driveway and I didn't want it feeling bad.

    cheers.

I've had my truck for a year and a half and 17000 miles, drive it like i stole it, and have had no reason to bring it back to the dealer. This is my third Toyota truck and by far the best one yet. I feel bad for all who are having troubles but of the thousands who post on this site, it seems that very few are having real problems. Please don't let all the media attention sour you on a great company, they are the biggest and will be taking the most heat.

    I love my taco!!

It's just sad to see all the problems. I've never really faulted Toyota for it. Like any & all businesses in this economy, job cuts, quality cuts, and cost cutting is the main focus for everyone these days - even consumers!!

As long as the transmission, electronics, engine, & major mechanicals stay together for another 5 years, it's still got the quality that blows most away.

    I had a 87 (22RTE), 90 & 95 both w/ 3.0. Neither of the v6 trucks had the head gasket problem (VINs started w/ J.)
Also they both went close to 200k without any warranty/tsb work like my current 06. If they both hadn't turned to rust buckets, I would still have at least one of them today & still keep my eyes peeled now & again for one.

My 2GEN is good but old style pre-tacoma was awesome to me & yes I will always love Toyota trucks!!!!

I was on the fence back and forth, but after getting into an accident a few weeks back and driving an Impala for the time being, I REALLY miss my truck.

    Getting it back today.

Yea I'm very pleased with my Tacoma. It looks and rides great and is outstanding in the snow. I would have liked a few more comfort features given that I drive it daily but I'll add those in time. My Tacoma is hands down better than anything I could buy that offers mores options.

Every now and then I run into an issue that reminds me this Toyota is not the same quality as the bulletproof Toyotas I've read about over the years but I like it just the same. It's the best mid size pickup available - period.

I love my truck would trade it for anything... its funny the other night I had a dream that I was driving on my street to help pull the cars out of the snow at the bottom and a huge tree feel on my truck crushing the roof. In my dream my truck save my life and but I was really depressed that I lost my truck. I know its a weird dream but if something really happend to my truck it would probably be the same way.
