Oh god, I hope they don't put him in an announcer's booth. That'd be even worse than listening to Cris Collinsworth.

Listening to how he pronounces words bugs me.

I miss Madden sometimes. His color commentary was always good for a laugh.

I always used to listen to the games on the radio; used to love listening to Gil Santos and Gino Capelletti call games. That was back when I was living at my family's camp and I didn't have a TV.

Bob Socci and Scott Zolak aren't nearly as good to listen to.

 

Crennel and Weis were under Parcells for many years prior, so not sure you can say they were Belichick guys. I'd have to look at the other 3 more off my head I can't recall..pretty sure O'Brien was a BB one though.

Osweiler I think was the system not the player. Personally I thought he was for real in Denver..not as in the GOAT but not a bum.

 

They were both assistant coaches for multiple years under Belichick, they are Belichick guys.

 

Crennel was a coach under Parcells for 8 yrs (perhaps more), Weis was the same for 7-9 yrs. This was before they were under BB as a head coach. So they're Parcells guys.

Not to mention they were under Belichick for 4 yrs.

 

Your quote about Weis proves the point I made. But let's not let facts get in the way of a good argument.

He he. Maybe he would inadvertently blurt out Omaha, Omaha on occasion.

 

He'd be at a loss for something to say about a given play, and he'd just yell OMAHA and hope that his fellow commentator jumped out of the booth.

We always turn off the sound on the TV and turn on the radio. Better play calling than anybody the TV stations can "field"!

 

The facts are that Crennell and Weis are Belichick guys every bit as much as Parcells guys. If either of them had been successful as head coaches Belichick would get the credit. When a coordinator who has been with a head coach for more than a year or two gets a job they are your guys. If they had been hired as head coaches under Parcells they would be Parcells guys.

 

I loved John Madden and glassy eyed Pat Summerall.
