When I was first shopping for a Turd Gen I test drove a Sport one day only because they didn't have any TRD ORs on the lot. I have to agree it rides like it's on wooden wagon wheels.

Not sure about the leaf pack, but pickups without any load in the back don't ride nice. I usually run a couple of PSI lower in the rear to compensate for that, or just up the front and leave the rear stock. The Bilstein's help, but I've already replaced mine with the Billy 6112/ 5160 combo. I forgot how the stock ride was. I believe the springs are different, but there are different parts # listings in the catalog for these 3rd gens, even with the V6 models.

its supposed to be better for on road driving but I think its much worse. I wonder what else besides the front and rear shocks will I have to replace to get closer to the OR ride. I am not asking for much I want it to drive like a truck, just not a shit truck with blown shocks.

They put stiffer suspension on the sport so that when you BOUNCE up out of your seat, you can see over the HUMP on the hood.

Report it stolen. Burn it. Claim insurance money. Go buy a 2nd gen. Come back to this forum and talk about Turdgens.

Play with the tire pressure. Even with your 17" wheels. It might make it easier and costs nothing. Do that chalk test to see where loads are placed across the tire tread.

    all tore up already
fyi 6112 for the gen 2 work excellent. been running them for a year and no issues. if they do what they did to the 5110 for 3rd gen, you may want to look at the 2nd gen anyways

My vote is "you're being a Sissy". Seriously how could you buy a 35K+ vehicle without test driving it thoroughly?? I took test drives at 3 different dealerships before buying mine. All 3 dealerships handed me the keys and told me to take it for a LONG test ride. No reason to come on here to complain about the truck when you should have been more responsible when buying it. If all the other trucks you have driven had better rides then why didn't you buy one of them???

I test drove a few. I drove the exact set up I was looking for without a moon roof. I am a fool for buying and not taking my specific one on a test drive

I love it. Have some Icon AAL with removed overload springs in the rear. 3rd notch on the front. Went up an inch on tire diameter and kept the 16" wheels.
I can only expect so much from a mid sized, fairly lightweight truck.

I used to drive a lowered S10 with 40 and 45 series tires with suspension mods and all polyurethane bushings. I'm used to a hard ride. Going higher and meatier suspension/ tire combo makes this thing so dull and unresponsive, but not like a "cadillac" boat.

IMG_9352.PNG.jpg Complaining about a truck you bought.

Complaining about a suspension you planned on changing anyway.

Complaining you didn't test drive your actual truck.

I have had them both the sport and OR. Both ride well to me. I do prefer the OR ride over the Sport though

Nah my luck the cops would find it 24 hours later and a bunch of homeless guys will have had a "soup kitchen" in it.

Another purchase without a test drive?

My truck drives fine, sure there are some sections of crappy highway where you can feel every joint and the truck lugs bath and forth. But I love the truck
