Are there any climate control units that are interchangeable with a 2000-2004 Tacoma?

It appears I have a bad center climate control switch on my 04 Tacoma. Somethings wrong with the signal it's sending to my servo damper. The servo damper works fine when tested on it's own with 12 volts. When the signal comes from the climate switch it doesn't move it's full motion left to right or hot or cold. So my question is can I take a climate control unit from a pre-2000 and put it in my 04? Also are any 4 runner units interchangeable? The reason I ask is the cost and how difficult it is to find a used 2000-2004 climate control unit. If you have any other ideas as to why this switch is not moving my servo damper properly, I'd love to know. Thanks!

Units from a 2000 and older tacoma work on vacuum pressure and are not electronic. Therefore they will not work in your 04. Ones that look the same as yours on the front should be compatible (they have buttons for air recirculation instead of a lever).

How are you verifying the part number in the eBay listing? The one in the title is completely incorrect. The ac climate control is made up of a few different parts. You can find it in the attached part diagram on page 14 (of the PDF not the printed number).

I have a 2001 4runner. If you need pictures of the plugs behind there for comparison with yours, let me know.

Some 4runner stuffs are swappable with taquitos.

From the PDF you gave me the part # is 55910-35240

From the Unit I linked a image shows part # 55912-35030 which is under the "ABS" letters. I don't know if this matters.

If it's not too much of a hassle? I'm really interested in the digital version also. Wondering if anyone has swapped this as well. I don't know if these units going is so rare that not many people have done it or looked into it? Usually a servo damper goes or something else first.

If you look at the pdf again you will see the part number for the black plastic back part is in fact 55912-35030. That's why I said there are multiple pieces to the unit. Look at the diagram in the pdf.

#1 is the back piece the temp/vent plugs into

    #2 is the front view

#3 is the black piece covering the back of the unit (as stated above)

Ohh man! I had a slow moment! Now I gotcha ;) So they list the part incorrectly because it's multiple pieces.

This plug connects to the circuit board. I would need to see the part number of the white piece that holds the switches. (behind the gauges)

I tried to find some better pictures online and it looks like the plugs are different from the Digital Display ones so doesn't look like that's a option. The dialed versions 2001-2002 4 runners does look the same and should be interchangeable. Unfortunately I haven't been able to confirm the full part #. I guess I could always purchase the unit and return it if necessary.
