That's what my research came back with as well and it makes sense.

@glorifiedwelder , any info on those analog spod setups? I think you may be on a hunting trip right now so whenever you have a moment.

-I have a wireless remote. Also has a 10 ft cord. Nice to be able to run the winch in a high risk situation a little farther away. Though you always want to keep an eye on the spooling
-Not sure how heavy I am loaded. Been meaning to check that out.
-no dual battery. Not planning on it. I have about all the extra lights and stuff I want and everything works great so not sure it's necessary. Just need to upgrade to an optima battery.
-I'm still on 600lb Springs and I will go with 700lbs within a couple weeks probably. Still rides fine. I only notice a difference on whoops and hard turns get a little more tippy with the sway out .
-It's a steel bumper. Think it's about 95lbs plus the 62lb winch. I got aluminum skids except for transfer. Tyler Pelfrey recommended I only go to 650lb Springs. So I'm still kind of looking into what to upgrade to cause I trust his advice as well.
-The advantage of cable is it is less likely to tear. Let's say if you scrape it against something in a difficult situation or spool it up with a bunch of dirt and mud on it. That could be a problem with a synthetic rope. They're basically the same IMO. I chose syn rope cause it's much lighter and won't rust.

Let me know when your ready for winch mod day!

    * Synthetic is also less dangerous. If the steel cable snaps it has so much tension on it it will go flying and can be very dangerous.

Did you see the video I posted the other week with that? They had the winch cable attached to a chain and it broke then went straight thru front window killing the guy.

Tyler def knows his stuff. I have all steel everything with my armor except the front bumper. Gonna need 700lb springs myself.

If I may, look into the North star deep cycle battery. The Optimas were optimum until a couple few years ago. They're no longer USA made and don't carry the same type of warranty as in the past.

Good to know. I'll check out the North Star batterys. I want to get a good quality batt and have not researched anything yet.

Word. Optima is made in Mexico now (Not sute if its Mexico exclusive). No knock against Mexico as they make my favorite Carhart gear but its the warranty that doesn't quite make the cut anymore.

I actually leave in a few hours, I haven't ordered one yet since I've been working 18 hour shifts but when I get back next week I'll get the ball rolling on a few sets. I'll ask him about the Bluetooth stuff. I also plan to have some special race prepping done to them that spod only offers to their race teams.

    Check Build thread
You want the lowest # spring that allows you to get the ride height you want without running into coil bind.

If you move up to #700 coils with little preload it will be stiffer than a #650/#600 coil with preload if that makes sense

Pick Up Stick house chicken special is pretty good, although it's not real Chinese food obviously

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
