Any of you guys keeping up on the Grand Tour? I only watched a few episodes but was pretty disappointed in it. Not the same.

I've seen a few. I think because there aren't any commercials, the segments tend to be too long.

Justified was great. Loved that it was set in Harlan, KY which is where I have kinfolk. Sons of Anarchy was the 2nd best show I've seen right behind House of Cards. My fav show of all time right now. Which reminds me, need to get netflix streaming turned back on. Had to get rid of it when I got laid off.

The 3G section is a dumpster fire. The disappointing thing is all it takes is 1 or 2 guys that don't even have a 3G in a thread stirring the pot to get something to go. I posted up a thread about having a hood latch issue and it turned into a quality argument between members.

Reading the 3G forum you'd think it was the worst vehicle ever produced in the history of time.

Makes you wonder how many people that are thinking about buying a 3rd gen come on here to do some research and then immediately get turned off from the truck.

I agree , Grand Tour has been disappointing, kind of like when they tried to do the first America Top gear that fell flat.

I think it's pretty close. The biggest differences is that "Star in a reasonably priced car" was replaced with "Celebrity Braincrash", where the celeb ends up dead before they reach the tent. And "The Stig" was replaced with "The American", who just complains about everything. I'd rather see the Stig.

Honestly, probably very few. They are buying based upon Toyota's reputation. I think it's quite easy to read about all of these problems and then seek them out and find them. For example, my diff makes noise...but I probably wouldn't have even noticed it or at least paid attention to it without all the posts on the forum about it. I will say, reading all the hate about the new 6AT was the reason I purchased the 6MT though.

That being said, I'm happy enough with mine. The 3.5L isn't anything to write home about (I truly miss my 4.0L) and has the wonkiest power delivery of any vehicle I've driven but the overall truck is nicer than my 2G was, so I'm pleased.

I've only seen 3-4 episodes (best friend has Prime, but I don't) and I don't like either of those segments. The celebrity thing is a time waste and all of Mike Skinner's comments just seem so overtly stereotypical and scripted.

People are much more likely to write a bad review (complain) than write a good review.

Those 2 segments I hate now. I didn't like the Stig for his opinion, he was great when he was muted and just drove the shit out of the car. The Celebrity Braincrash is just a waste of time. It just seems like they're trying too hard to be funny rather than focus on the cars and let the comedy come naturally like it did with the old show. Just seems forced.

True enough. And I bought a MT after reading about how many people didn't like the AT and the problems they were having. It just seems like they make mountains out of molehills some times. But if it gets them through the night....:notsure:

I can't comment on the 3rd gens. As far as the 2nd gens, the manual is a little notchy at times, but I feel the auto in the Taco and 4Runners I've driven feel lifeless.

    "
I know how many times have we seen how's my driving?" and called to say the driver is great! used his turn signals and stopped the let the squirrel cross the road.

When it comes to electronics, I usually read the bad reviews first. People will knock a product because UPS played kickball with their package.

Those make me laugh. When I read reviews, I look at the overall rating to determine if I'll consider the product. Then I look at negatives and see if they're all unique or if they're the same. If every single negative review said it was awesome except X broke, that's unnerving because that tells me there's a flaw in the product. I understand that when you make 1,000 of a product, they'll be some duds, but if 100 of the 1,000 broke the same way, there's a fundamental issue with it.

The dead celebrity thing is lame. But otherwise I like the show. I think it's pretty good, I mean it's literally a copy of the original top gear.:notsure:

Agreed. I wish they would do a little bit more reviews / comparisons but still it seems like the original top gear that I originally liked

Definitely lame... but i like the cast and that's what keeps me watching. Otherwise I wouldn't be interested at all, plus they get creative with some of their outrageous challenges.
