I did bake them. I took all the scared out of it and have successfully done quite a few sets already. No issues.

    Nothing worthy
After having done a few sets have you learnt anything new? New techniques or what not to do!?
If I'm not mistaken I've taken a screen shot of your original how to so in comparison.
    Getting ready to do it.

I wonder if it is the same as sending a steak back at restaurant , the chef spits in it (in this case the dealership ) and feels he gets even by who knows what . Better off complaining to Toyota then going elsewhere? My closest dealer is 50 miles away and the second is 75 miles , then 150.

i hear what your sayin'...this particular dealer is closer then where i bought my truck. i have received attitude both times iv'e dealt with the front counter person. I sure don't want anyone kissing my ass , have some integrity and do your job..

i also had to mention to them that they forgot to place the updated sticker under my hood after the trans TSB...the service manager emailed me and was actually pretty cool. I told him i wanted to have a good rapport with his service department but felt we weren't getting off on the right foot here.

I have been looking around my area for a trustworthy mechanic.

It is a shame but sometimes it comes down to 1 or 2 people that may be best buds ,the service manager and the tech. Especially in a small town dealership. It is extremely hard to listen to BS from them when you know they are wrong and convey a difference of opinion .

@pjensen641, I am going with your opinion for the most part. I had him order the driveshaft. Talk to him for a good 10 minutes or more he is very confident this will do the trick. He said they did drive it it was Nice & Smooth no problems at all without the drive shaft. He pretty much guaranteed it also there is a 30-day money-back guarantee for the drive shaft if it doesn't do what we want it to. Maybe I just have some really really bad luck. I also called the drive shaft place and talk to a tech, there he told me they have sold lots of them for the front of Tacoma's. It is not all that rare I guess after I lift. He said lots of people probably just put up with the vibration. No way I could put up with this vibration, was really bad. Don't think he gouged me like I was worried about, just hope this works now. We'll see in about a week. $740 total with tax. I know the driveshaft was $409, I believe without shipping because I asked when I called.:fingerscrossed:

I experienced a ton of drive shaft issues with my 06. I put a tom woods drive shaft in with CV joints at both ends, it was decent but still had a harmonic vibration at 55. Ultimately I ended up having one made that had a CV joint in the middle at the carrier bearing instead of at each end. That solved all my pinion angle issues and was the best money I ever spent. Makes sense, because the 1st gens had a CV joint in the middle but when they came out with the 05 I suspect that Toyota didn't want to spend the money for a CV joint and just made it a two piece. I can't remember the company that I got the last drive shaft from, but it was in California.
