Not enough to have a build thread.
I'm headed to bed but here's my dilemma. I'm not building a rock crawler, more of just a general off road rig/ daily driver. I do use it to tow a cargo trailer. It may be used in rocky terrain, but not solely for the purpose of crawling. Anyway, I really wanted steelies just for the reliability when airing down. You know, steel bends, aluminum breaks. But I can't find a steel wheel the size I want with the proper backspacing that will fit my first gen (caliper interference). Am I being overly concerned/ cautious?
To run a steel wheel id have to run a spacer. I'm thinking that a spacer combined with an oversized tire and steel wheel will wreak havoc on my front end.

Let me know what you guys think

As far as I know Wheeler Offroad sells wheels that fit. From what I read though, if you tow a lot, they may not be the best. They affect acceleration and braking power.

Hmmm that's odd. You may have to call them. Maybe they discontinued them?

I believe they discontinued them. From what I've read they were the old model Pro Comp Steelies, pro comp changed their design and they no longer fit.

As cheap and available as alloys are, searching for steelies would be a waste of time.

You could buy 2 alloys and mount the tire of your choice on both, and still be ahead money and reliability wise.
