Drove east to west through anza borrego for the first time! Started at ocotillo well/fish creek. Then up heart attack hill and through the squeeze. Nice drive. No mud. Wind was kicking up as the sun went down though.

 

I did a lot of the fish creek and side trails in a Subaru Outback where I found Jeeps crawling in 4x, when I couldn't believe the trail was rated for 4x4. I guess it just takes a good driver and the right path to make some people blatantly stare.

 

99% of it you could do in a civic you didn't care about.

 

I dont think 1st gens have this problem, its pretty much just on the 05-06 2nd gen with the 4.0.

Closed Wed-Thur, but Ill go with you when you are ready, I need some track time! Since Im not sure about this weekend if Im gonna ride or not with nasty winds and lotta rain. You going out?

Its a fun track, I've raced the GP a few times. some sketchy sections since I dont like doubles in deep mud with ruts! And they use all the tracks put to together and add some concrete sections for added excitement right out of wet corners, haha.

Ill have you owning the vet track by the end of the session!

Do you also like technical type of riding, like big hillclimbs and some really difficult type stuff, like steep declines and waterfalls?

 

Anyone know of any "pick and pull" junkyards in San Diego? I need to find a Tundra with a 150amp alternator that I can yank off..

 

You can try pick a part down in chula vista. They have a lot of older cars im not sure if they will have any tundras.

That place is solid! I used them a lot when i used to have an f150. I wasnt sure if they were still around.

 

212 is closed, Barona mx is closed. Barona wasn't all that great, super dry track. They had a decent layout but 212 is better in my opinion.

As far as tracks are concerned, are there any others to ride in SD? Or is Pala the next closest track?

 

Glenn Helen is doable for a day trip as long as the 215 isn't congested with traffic

 

Cahuilla Creek in Anza i think is closer to SD than Glenn Helen.

 

Good call, I forgot about that track. Growing up in norcal I had a buddy who had gone there a few times but it was just a track in a far away land when it was a 10 hour drive haha.
