Well everyone, my wife and I after searching for many months and looked at 10 or more house, missed opportunities and out bid several times.. But as of midnight our offer was excepted on our 1st house! But now I finally have the money for my lift and I don't know if I should just hold onto it... I mean the most gift cards and cash I got for the holidays.. I think I should buy it still haha! After that though I'll need larger tires so that money is coming from my pocket... But right now I'm so excited to move out of this apartment complex! Sorry just had to share with my TW family!

Tom CONGRATS to you and your wife ... it is very exciting when you get your first home. Me and my wife lived in an apartment for a few years when we were first married. It was so nice when we moved into our house.
Just keep in mind a house comes with alot of responsibilities and you will want to do several mods to your home just as you do to your Tacoma. If it were me i'd hold off on the new lift/tires until after i was settled in the new house. CONGRATS again !

Congrats man. If you're spending gift cards and Christmas money then get what you want. You didn't buy the house expecting someone else to pay for upgrades.

A new bolt here, a new bolt there, a new bolt everywhere.
Congrats on the new home. I'd hold off for a few months on the lift kit. If I have learned anything from buying homes is that no matter how perfect the home is when purchased, the wife will always find something to add, change, or fix to make her castle a little more comfortable to her. That usually ain't cheap either lol.

We got lucky with the fact that the owners did 130k worth of work last few years! New Bosch hot water heater, all new metal roofing, hard wood maple floors throughout the house with radiant floor heating, new up to day electric new windows.. so that stuff is all nice, but I know we want to get rid of the picket fence and put up a privacy fence..

Thing is though with buying a home you have at least 30 years to do shit, and you will do shit for 30 years. With my wife I have started projects and become disinterested and then went back 6 months later when it bothers me. We will be here a while so no real rush to get it done unless it's broke.

Maybe save some money but just getting a level and with the money I saved put it towards tires.. I'm lucky that 2 times a year I get a $2500 bonus, that helps out turmendously with anything that comes up throughout the year

Wouldn't get a level if you want a lift. Buy once cry once.

Yeah, and they'll be things that won't bother you until your there a few days. It took my wife about two or three weeks to figure she didn't like the guest restroom, that I think I only use since we moved in. So happy wife, happy life... restroom got redone. I did get to pick the throne since I use it more than her lol.

Yeah unfortunately..in my case at least it doesn't take my wife 30 years to find stuff she doesn't like lol. It take 3 weeks lol.
Joking aside yeah you might have 30 years you might get 5 depending on many different variables. Just from my experiences there has always been that.."this house would be perfect if..." and out comes the plastic.

This may be true for some but as long as it's on my dime and I'm the one working on it it'll get done when it gets done.

Not really as of yet, it's the style we love and all the appliances come with it and our brand new all stainless. The one thing would be adding carpet runners to the hardwood stairs so we don't slip

And if you were to only get 5 years and make it "perfect" the next woman will walk in there and want to make it "perfect" as well. There is no win.
