It was such a torquey little 4 cylinder that on a level surface you could actually start from a dead stop in 5th gear.

 

First car I learned to drive was an 84 Volkswagen jetta diesel. Couldn't get my license without knowing how to. That came in handy when I got qualified to drive duece and a half trucks in the army. Funny thing was the M1 tank was an automatic. What a blast that thing was to drive and shoot.
