    Wouldn't it be the cams? The 3vzfe cams should do better much higher.... also getting rid of the extremely long intake runners.

    How much boost are you running? How much methanol are you spraying and what percentage?

    If I up the psi it's gonna give more everything. I'm at 10psi right now. People have run more safely even up to 24psi on MR2's.

    I got ahead of myself and overlooked "OEM" in your post. It definitely doesn't feel like its dropping off that hard on the butt dyno. I don't know enough about engines to really say, weak springs, small valves, long runners :notsure:

    More boost, less timing, keep going! I need to install a valve body and fuel pump and then I'll be back to 15psi like I was in my old rear mount 4runner.

    i realize that is more accurately compressor diesel but its still kinda funny

    Yeah, a guy I knew said he ran 24psi in his 4runner. I have a tt supra fuel pump so I just need to know how to tune better and I'm going to ramp up my psi

    No....... washer fluid. Easy peazy $1.99 at any grocery store. Plus the water helps clean and cool.

    You did not do your own tuning? It should be very easy to tune for more PSI.... Getting the closed loop boost dialed in is the time consuming part. You just gotta change your fuel percentages on the top of the fuel chart and turn that boost controller clockwise a couple turns :cool:

    I wouldn't trust the fic 6 over 400 crank hp except with e85.

    Because timing becomes exponentially more important as hp increases.

    You can retard the timing to any degree at any rpm... You can hold it to 0 if you're so inclined... Not even sure the logic of your thinking here really. no offense, trying to have a reasonable discussion to avoid misinformation, because you know how stuff gets repeated and taken as truth.

    You probably know more about this stuff than me but 400 is just where I would start feeling iffy. The fic 6 is notorious for having very limited timing control, much less than advertised. With e85 you have a much higher detonation threshold so you run into similar problems at a higher power level.

    Never heard that myself, but I know from experience and logging that I have NEVER had a single timing hiccup in open loop once the FIC takes over. I just think that people love to blame things they can't fully understand instead of themselves (or faulty component) when things go south.

    You're correct in saying that any hiccup over 400ish, and your potential for catastrophic failure increases dramatically. e85 would mitigate those potential damages. If I had e85 closer than 30 miles away, there's no question I would be running it. I pay $2.70/gallon for ethanol free 93 locally.... e85 (110 octane) goes for $1.50gge ADED

    Just going off what I've read. I can't afford to blow a motor right now. If I could I'd likely have a different opinion of the fic6's capabilities.

    Not sure where the "blaming things they don't understand" bit is coming from. If you blow something, you check the logs and find out why it blew. If all the signs say the fic couldn't pull the timing it was supposed to then it's pretty cut and dry. No one blew a motor and just randomly decided it was the fic's fault.
