Well I am about ready to pull mine off. 6"lift, king coilovers, TC uca's, a crap load of $$ spent, and I have no clearance from the sway bar end links! ! Going to sell my brand new 315 70 17 tires for a loss and go to a 285 70 or 75, to try to gain some clearance but don't know if that will even be enough! Thanks, Tuff Country!

I know I'm resurrecting a thread here, but, in the evasive driving training I received years ago for law enforcement we were told exactly this. Swerve to save (human) lives but only brake to avoid animals. Why? Because suddenly swerving can cause collisions, roll overs, etc. It's worth crashing to avoid a child in the street. It's NOT worth crashing to avoid a deer, dog, cat, penguin, squirrel.... etc

5100/885's.... had them off 2 weeks now, just came back from 3 days of off-roading & I couldn't be happier. It is literally a whole new truck while out flexing, well I now realize it never was flexing with the swaybar on! Street performance is still good for me, it has the body roll of a 4Runner now, which I find acceptable. Haters will hate, I swear some people must live in Yellowstone & encounter animals around every 2nd corner! I'm in So Cal, so worst case scenario I have to (consider) swerving to avoid a jay walking transient.

Yep, this ^... Theres a difference between removing it on a factory suspension and removing it after upgrading. I understand the risks, however The SwayBar Police are out in full force.

Swerve? Isn't that what plate bumpers are for? :notsure:

Seriously though. I removed my sway bar. Came out the next morning. Opened the garage door. Truck was on its side.

I learned today on my way home from work that sliders are good to have when someone else swerves. You know what? I bet the guy in the FORD removed HIS sway bar!

Is it safer to remove my sway bar or my front skid plate? :boink:

Removing the front skid plate will reduce weight and give extra clearance for rock crawling. Sway bar removal gives extra travel. Do both for the ultimate free offroading mod combo!

It was more tongue-in-cheek than serious. ;)

Not to worry, I was picking up what you were throwing down. That's why the bottom of my truck is adequately armored
