Been in and out. Started work on it last week so not sure when I'll get it back. If it's the same this time I'll just count my losses and drive it till it dies. Hopefully by then I'll have a place with a shop with proper tools.

 

Proper tools to do what exactly?

 

Replace with a used engine.

I keep meaning to look up the OBDR more. I know it was one of the options on the table to turn into a trip.

 

Talked to the new boss today. It's going to be such a sweet job. I'll be shadowing the current fish biologist for a year. He's been there for 40 some years and is in charge of anything wildlife, so lots to learn from him. Most of my work for the first year will be entirely field based to learn the land and gain the necessary skills to work independently in the future. They don't have to do overnight trips very often because they are located so close to the areas that it generally requires only an hours drive at most. So perfect position to have Ash with me. While they can't guarantee a permanent position in a year at that location, I can and I will be appointed to a fish biologist position with the BLM in another location. That said, they are expecting the guy who is training me to retire very soon and they don't see a problem with me getting the permanent position in their office.

That said, my tentative offer can be retracted depending on how things go with the new administration.

Man it will be the beginning of the end for our nation if we loose our public lands. It would decimate states.

They are a big faded but not bad otherwise. One of the bigger bars is busted at the mount. Why I bought two originally as I was just going to use the smaller crossbars.

Would require a lot of drilling to install but would work. Could use a paint job too.

I can get more photos this weekend as ill be in powell then.

Happened with Reagan in the past. If you weren't at your new job by Jan 20th, they took back the offer. People literally quit their jobs, sold their house, and moved only to find out they no longer had a position. They did a retroactive freeze that went back to November to deal with the new hires. Courts sided with Reagan because until a person is a employee, there is no binding contract.

Not saying it will happen, but republicans have been fanboying hard over Reagan this election.
